Final trial

[After everyone is done investigating/disabling an alien, they will hear a quiet click near the staircase. When they approach the staircase, they will find that there’s a whole new set of stairs, going even further down.

The stairs go deep down, and it takes while before there’s any end in sight, but eventually they reach door. Behind it is a large, completely gray room. If it weren’t for the massive table and strange podium sitting in the middle of the room, the guests would be instantly shocked by how empty it is otherwise. But the feeling of emptiness grows the longer they stay in the room.

The door closes behind them when they all enter the room. If they look, there is a similarly gray tv set sitting at the end of the table, right in front of the podium. Despite it’s age, there is a VHS player connected to it.

Well it sure is lucky you have a VHS tape on you, right?]
darnsitall: It's killing me to see you this way (And some days I can't even dress myself)

Anything good in there, Chip?

[How much gay. She needs to know.]
nocasetoobig: (something that i heard)

I...

[he looks up]

I mean...he did make a deal?
darnsitall: Your mind is playing tricks on you, my dear (Some days I don't know)

[personal profile] darnsitall 2017-11-18 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
But he clearly regrets doing it now.
nocasetoobig: (one more tear)

[personal profile] nocasetoobig 2017-11-18 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
But he did. And he chose to do it.

Doesn't that mean he's guilty of it?
hallotween: (never not chasing)

[personal profile] hallotween 2017-11-18 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
The only person who's guilty is the one who forced us to choose. All of us.

He also tried to help us escape. That should count for something.
nocasetoobig: (grey skies)

[personal profile] nocasetoobig 2017-11-18 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not saying I think they're innocent. But...all of us, every week, were given a reason to hurt one another. And whoever did, we voted for! Because they chose to do it!
nocasetoobig: (no case too small)

That was an accident.
darnsitall: (Don't listen to a word I say)

I know it was. Everyone does, even Rod. And he didn't want her to die anymore than we did. His hands were tied.
hallotween: (let's go down to the tennis court)

[personal profile] hallotween 2017-11-18 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Tied by him.

[points at hatbox]
nocasetoobig: (that you're not here)

1/2 but 2 is on josh's

[Chip's quiet for a few long seconds. They seem to stretch for hours, as he thinks back to that trial - at how brave Reyna was, how she faced it all with such dignity, how he begged Rod and Rod...

...Rod allowed Reyna her final wish. To go out how she wanted.

It's a lot to think about.]

So was Dipper's death, and we all condemned Goofy for getting what he thought was vengeance against the culprit.

Much like what you're doing now: do you want justice or are you more concerned with getting back at Rod over what happened here?
nocasetoobig: (are picking up the slack)

2/2

[personal profile] nocasetoobig 2017-11-18 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[...after a little more silence, Chip turns towards Rod. He squares his shoulders, then lands his flying machine on the table and climbs off]

-I don't like you. I don't like how you started all this, how you keep hiding things from us, how you act like nothing's your fault-! But I...

...I don't think killing you is the way to fix this. And I think you'd better spend the rest of your life, trying to find a way to make things right! Got it!?

[He's picking up pen and paper. And writing INNOCENT.]
lusito: (little by little)

[personal profile] lusito 2017-11-18 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Guilty of poor decisions? Absolutely.

He's also guilty of having emotions and caring about loved ones, but so's most everyone else here.

That kind of thing is a punishment in itself. You don't need to punish someone more for doing that.

Does it really matter now? He’s been trying to help us. I’m not against giving somebody a shot at changing for the better.
