[You wake up and instantly realize something is wrong.

There is a vague feeling of dread hanging in the air and, as comfortable as this bed is, there’s just something off about everything, even before you open your eyes. The dread only grows when you open your eyes and realize that you are in a completely unfamiliar room. One that has clearly seen better days at that.

As you explore your room, you will soon find a bedroom key resting on the dresser along with a note]

Welcome, esteemed guest, to our humble abode. We hope that you enjoy your stay in this Phantom Manor, as we expect you to stay with us for a very long time.

Feel free to make yourself at home as you enjoy what this manor has to offer, whether it’s the library, our projection room, or our famous wax museum. We’re sure you will find great joy

However, before you can get too comfortable, we ask you to please come to the portrait gallery at noon so we can discuss your stay here.

[The uncomfortable feeling doesn’t let up as you leave the safety of your bedroom. The manor seems old and decrepit, almost like it would fall over at the slightest breeze. Despite that, anyone who tries to escape will soon realize that the walls are unusually sturdy, and there are no doors that would seemingly lead to the outside world.

Still, at least you’re not alone in this scenario, if the other bedroom doors are any indications. Maybe there are a few more people coming out of their bedrooms too, so you have someone to talk toif you want to try to figure out what's going on. But if the 30 bios in the foyer hall are any indication, whoever has you here did not do this on accident. Whatever you’re here for, it seems like you’re here for a reason.

But hey, what’s the use of being pessimistic about this? Maybe it’s all an innocent situation… right?]

[She's definitely not one to stop someone else from taking whatever they want. Besides- they seem to be the only ones here! Not like anyone else would mind, right? Minnie waves back towards Ariel with a wide smile.]

Hello, there!

[Aw she's so friendly already! At least there's that. Ariel puts down the poker chips and grabs a journal nearby her. She scribbles in it with terrible handwriting and turns it to show the mouse.]

"Hello I'm Ariel! I can't speak, but it's nice to meet you!"

...Ariel! It's nice to meet you, too!

[She swears she must've seen her around somewhere before, but she doesn't comment on it.]

I'm Minnie. If you don't mind me asking...what're you doing collecting all those poker chips for?

[Ariel smiles as she writes down Minnie's name to remember for later. Then she makes a note about the chips.]

"That's what they're called? I thought they were pretty!"

Yeah! They're called poker chips. I take it you don't come from a place where they exist, huh?

[She shakes her head and turns to a page in the journal she had dog-eared since Ariel realized it was going to come up a lot:]

"I was a mermaid and wished to become human! I had to trade my voice to do so."

You traded your voice...? Gosh, that sounds like it must be hard to deal with! But it looks like you're handling it well.

[It takes her a solid moment to realize Ariel said she was a mermaid.]

...Wait- you're a mermaid!? That sounds so cool!

[Ariel shrugs. It's been... okay. She'd much rather have her voice but not if she can't keep these legs.

She does nod to confirm that. Ariel was a mermaid. Now she's a human, and she kicks her legs a little to show Minnie.]

[Honestly, she's extremely intrigued with Ariel's situation! She clasps her hands together and looks around at the casino.]

Have you gotten a chance to look at everything else around here? If not, we could go and look around together. It'd be fun to look around with someone else.

[Ariel nods, still smiling. Sounds fun to her!]

[She claps to herself and smiles wide, turning on her heel as she begins to walk around the casino. She waits for Ariel to catch up to her before speaking up.]
