[Through the entire time Luke is speaking, Stan can't take his eyes off of Leia. If someone had told him three months ago that he was going to meet the girl of his dreams from a galaxy far far away, that he, Stanley Pines, would not only be settling down and getting married but be excited about it, he would have laughed.

If someone had told him that there would be a light at the end of the tunnel, that he would feel even a tiny, grasping pea-sprout of hope after losing Ford, well... he would have punched them.

They haven't changed clothes or showered in a few days, they're exhausted and hungry, it's been less than forty-eight hours since he was violently executed and in that time he helped save the multiverse but had to deal with the loss of his brother, and if the saying does include "something borrowed" then they can count most of the wedding accessories as that. But they're surrounded by their loved ones, including family that they're going to be separated from for at least a year. And even as nervous as he is about how unprepared they are, the thought of waiting an entire uncertain year until their family - their brothers, especially - could be with them, was worse.

After all, if nothing else this whole thing had proven that, well. Maybe they wouldn't have a year.

A knot builds in the pit of his stomach, his heart racing as Luke finishes his part, as he directs Leia to speak, but as Stan looks into her eyes, warm and dark and sparkling with laughter and unshed tears, he holds her hands tighter, smiles at her, his own eyes welling with tears in response to the tears in her voice.

When the tears start rolling down her face, he breaks tradition, he lets go of her left hand and cups her face, swiping the tears from her cheek with the pad of his thumb. When she looks away, at the mixed crowd of skeletons and living around them (including some they don't even recognize at all, friendly curious locals who can't help but spectate a Living Wedding in the Land of the Dead), he takes her left hand again, rubs his thumbs over her knuckles.]

Leia, if anyone had told me weeks ago that I was gonna be marrying the woman whose first words to me were telling me to put on pants, I would've thought they were crazy.

[He hides clearing the lump in his throat with a chuckle at his own joke.]

I can be rude, and reckless, and stubborn as the day is long. I'm an old curmudgeon, and a con man, and I lie as easy as breathing, and even my good looks can only go so far to make up for all'a that. But you got deep into the heart of me, you found your way to something I never gave to nobody but family before, and, well. That made you family. This just makes it official.

The last few months've been an adventure, and falling in love with you has been one of the only good things that came out of it. You're the hope that kept me going through the night. I wanna give you a home, someplace you can come home to and hang up all those hats you wear. I got one more adventure in me, and I couldn't think of a better one than marrying you. And I swear, in front of our family and friends and the guy I borrowed this jacket from,

[He pauses just for a beat, in case that gets a laugh,]

that I'm gonna love you with every beat of my old, stubborn heart, Starshine. And when that gives out, I'll keep loving you, enough that you'll know it every day I ain't there until you come here and join me.
