[Belle awakes with a start, tear tracks still dried on her cheeks. She's a little more than bewildered; had she passed out after discovering the death of her beloved Beast? Had someone put her to bed? But as the haze of confusion fades, she realizes she's in a room that's all at once unfamiliar and too familiar. The trophy heads on the walls have her terrified for a moment that Gaston survived his fall, somehow, and brought her home like yet one more trophy. But the more she looks around, the more unfamiliar things look. There are objects in this room she simply can't place; doesn't recognize at all. Shakily, she pulls herself out of bed, and even though by all rights she's still in her undergarments, ventures out into the hall with the note and key clutched in her hand, her white shift dress rustling about her calves.]
