[You wake up in a bed.

A rather comfy bed, but as you open your eyes, you realize that this room is not one you’ve ever been in before. And even the most villainous of you should notice that something is immediately very off by how morbid your room looks. While generally clean, it looked dark and like it was a part of a very old house.

And that “Rest in Peace” throw pillow really isn’t doing the room any favors.

Meanwhile, on the dresser on top of your new notebook, there is also a message:]

When the clock strikes 13 o’clock. You must all meet in the stretching room for a special announcement.

[Well, it would be rude to refuse an invitation, right?

As soon as you leave your room, you notice a stark difference between the bedroom and the rest of the building. It looked like it hadn’t been kept up in ages, and it shows with how everything is caked in dust or covered in cobwebs. But judging by the other bedroom doors, possibly with other people peering out at the same time you, at least you’re not alone in this strange situation.

As you explore the rest of the first floor of the mansion, you’ll come to realize that, besides the bedrooms, the whole place is rather decrepit and dimly lit. While all rooms may provide a great interest in you, the the bios of all your foolish mortals might be useful to you, especially if you enjoy finding out how much your new captor has learned about you.]

[Well, at the very least, she's not overtly threatening right off the bat. So, while his "big cat" is a bit rusty, it's a lot less rusty than his English. Maybe we can try this out...]

[She is pretty much the least threatening big cat you could find. She looks downright excited, actually. There's something more familiar about the way he's talking than everyone else has been...]

Oh good! You're way less weird than the other hairless monkeys I've been seeing.

You seem different too. Haven't see a lot of big cats like you.

Well they're monkeys and they don't seem to have fur, so...

Leopards. I've fought with leopards. But I've never seen a leopard like you.

It's different.

[She shakes her head.]

That's 'cause I'm not a leopard. I'm a lion. Leopards can be pretty mean, though. Did you live near his territory?

A lion! Haven't met a lion. That's new.

She tried to make moves on to our territory several times. I put a stop to it.

[His enthusiasm makes her smile. At least he isn't asking her why she can talk!]

Lots of new things around here.

[Then an understanding nod. She gets that.]

My pride has struggled with some leopards trying to invade our lands, too. We had strength in numbers, though. I hope you had help!

Didn't need help.

Did it on my own.

Really?

[She's impressed.]

Wow! You must be really tough!

Strong enough.

[he's very proud of that fact!]

Not as strong as other gorillas. But smart.

[She giggles a little, letting him have his pride. If he can fight off a leopard by himself, well, he deserves it!]

Gorilla? Is that the kind of monkey you are? I've never met a gorilla before.

They're big. Big and strong. Like me.

Do they live in dusty boxes like this one too?

Yeah! This.. this thing we're in.. what did the others call it.. building?

[She swishes her tail and points with her nose at the cobwebs and things, wrinkles up her muzzle.]

Makes me sneeze.

Jane has showed me buildings like this. Not for gorillas, though.

It's not good. Hard to climb.

[She nods, thoughtful. Not for gorillas. Not for lions, either.]

Hard to get comfortable, too. I don't get it.
