Introduction

[You wake up in a bed.

A rather comfy bed, but as you open your eyes, you realize that this room is not one you’ve ever been in before. And even the most villainous of you should notice that something is immediately very off by how morbid your room looks. While generally clean, it looked dark and like it was a part of a very old house.

And that “Rest in Peace” throw pillow really isn’t doing the room any favors.

Meanwhile, on the dresser on top of your new notebook, there is also a message:]

When the clock strikes 13 o’clock. You must all meet in the stretching room for a special announcement.

[Well, it would be rude to refuse an invitation, right?

As soon as you leave your room, you notice a stark difference between the bedroom and the rest of the building. It looked like it hadn’t been kept up in ages, and it shows with how everything is caked in dust or covered in cobwebs. But judging by the other bedroom doors, possibly with other people peering out at the same time you, at least you’re not alone in this strange situation.

As you explore the rest of the first floor of the mansion, you’ll come to realize that, besides the bedrooms, the whole place is rather decrepit and dimly lit. While all rooms may provide a great interest in you, the the bios of all your foolish mortals might be useful to you, especially if you enjoy finding out how much your new captor has learned about you.]
terribibble: (this is how i took my SATs)

delicately makes up a tennessee town name

[personal profile] terribibble 2017-06-12 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Well right now I'm livin' in Gravity Falls, Oregon, but my folks are back in Little Stump, Tennessee.

[Technically a couple of miles outside it, but Little Stump barely has enough people in it to count as a town and they need to claim all the heads they can.]
aboyandhiscar: (i love you!!!)

i 100% believe it exists

[personal profile] aboyandhiscar 2017-06-12 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, oh! He at least knows those state names, wow.]

Oh sweet, so you're from America too! Assuming it's before my time when there were like, more actual cities around. Nice!
terribibble: (this is how i took my SATs)

i mean there is a boogertown. and a minor hill. and of course dont forget Finger, the best town

Before your time...

[Sort of like what he talked about with Ford, even if he's not too pleased by the idea. At least it makes a little more sense than trying to reconcile everyone onto the same timeline. That would just be an impossible headache. Alternate times is almost easier to deal with conceptually.]

What year are you from, exactly? It's 1982 for me. Was. Was 1982.
aboyandhiscar: (don't get distracted)

that finger knows what's up

[personal profile] aboyandhiscar 2017-06-13 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yikes, 1982? Add like, a dozen or so decades to that, man.
terribibble: (absolutely very upsetting)

[personal profile] terribibble 2017-06-13 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. Probably should have suspected.

[He runs a hand back through his hair. By the looks of it he's done that an awful lot already today.]

So far everyone I've met -- it feels like we're all from vastly different sorts of places and times. Even the one person who's familiar to me is from about thirty years in my future.

[Like, places where crickets talk, and it's rude to think that's unusual.]
aboyandhiscar: (okay but why CAN'T we drive??)

[personal profile] aboyandhiscar 2017-06-13 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm starting to accept the idea. I mean, cool as heck! Just not the way I'd like to discover this kinda stuff is possible.

But hey, you got a bud here? Time gaps aside, that's a plus! S'means maybe all this isn't totally random.
terribibble: (he was shaking his head yes)

[personal profile] terribibble 2017-06-13 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
He's not my -- he's just someone I know. That's all.

[Methinks he doth protest too much.]

I always knew it was, theoretically, just -- you're right. This isn't how I'd've liked to experience it firsthand.
aboyandhiscar: (everyone is delightful)

[personal profile] aboyandhiscar 2017-06-13 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
. . .[mmmHM, he's not gonna keep pressing that.]

Yeah. Well, if it's any reassurance? I can tell you spiders don't get any bigger in the future. There's a constant.

[one crawls up his arm. Mike does not seem to mind. Go go, spider friend.]
terribibble: (absolutely very upsetting)

[personal profile] terribibble 2017-06-13 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
That's... bizarrely comfortin', yes. Good t know some things don't change.

[It sucks that it's the spiders that have to be normal but, you know, sure. Speaking of which, does Mike just not know there's a potential harbinger of death on him?]

You, ah -- you've got -- ?

aboyandhiscar: (wink wink nudge nudge)

[personal profile] aboyandhiscar 2017-06-14 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
--? What, this guy? He ain't doing nothing. [He'll stretch out a hand, letting it crawl on to a dusty old lamp to resume its web building, or whatever it is spiders do.]

It's just doing it's thing. A little scary, but not out to get us. Just remember that while you're exploring, yeah?
terribibble: (his face looks like a big ol bean)

[personal profile] terribibble 2017-06-16 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
R-right. Right. Not like I haven't seen spiders before or anythin', I just -- usually folks don't like havin' them on -- it's fine. No point makin' a fuss if you don't mind it.

[He's only sort of halfway talking to Mike. There's a very clear impression that he's also trying to talk himself down.]
