This Used to Be the Life but I Don't Need Another One
[Well Ratigan couldn't care less about what happened, but he really didn't get his fill of partying from the bar and everyone simpering wasn't how he wanted it to go down. Soon after the trial little notes are slipped beneath each door.]
You are cordially invited to a mourning party in the lobby. RVSP ASAP.
[In the lobby Thalia will have moved some tables to the lobby and provide her choice dish of cheeseburgers along with a smattering of bread, fruits, and vegetables. Reyna will have brought along hot chocolate galore.
For those that aren't your thing? Well in honor of the recently departed there's pine tree shaped cookies (Thanks Thalia.) and triangle crackers with cheese (thanks...Ratigan?). And there's a helping of drinks if the bar wasn't enough for you wink wink. Ratigan has every intention of making this a party.]

You can come in, if you want.

Thanks, really.
[He steps in... and he's got a couple cups of tea, he holds one out for Donald.]
Here ya go. I thought that maybe you'd need this too.

[He’ll accept the cup, even if he just stares at it a while before moving it onto a bedside table. He really doesn’t want to bring this up, but it’s all there really is to address...]
Are you- [well, of course he’s not alright, but] I mean, you seemed a lot closer to him than the rest of us.
[Despite how well Goofy seemed to have known Donald, Donald had really only just met him before he died. As quick as their friendship has formed and ended, he feels bad moping around when Oswald probably has it much worse. Judging from his reaction at the trial, they might’ve been old friends.]
Are you gonna be alright?
no subject
[A rather vague answer to a serious question, but Oswald wasn't really in the right headspace for it. He'd just start rambling... which he will.]
Donald, I'm going to tell you something that's probably going to sound crazy, but just listen, okay?
[Deep breath.... here we go.]
I... know you. And Goofy. Back where I'm from.
no subject
Goofy, though, I didn't-- I mean, I wouldn't have thought... were you two close?
[It makes sense, then, why Oswald in particular had had such a difficult time voting for him.]
no subject
The truth of it is, I wasn't close to the Goofy in my world, or the Donald in my world either. Neither of you knew I even existed because we were worlds apart. [He sighs.] But, I still knew about both of you, and you're both famous stars where I'm from.
no subject
I, uh, I assumed-- I mean, it seemed like you were a lot closer to them. I mean, us. From the way you talked about us.
no subject
[Because at this point, maybe it's best if Oswald holds off on telling Donald about how they're both cartoon characters? Knowing Donald, he might not even believe it.]
He's just as clumsy as he usually is in the movies, that's kind of this thing.
no subject
Yeah, I guess he can see that. He'd make for a good comedy guy.
[Or, uh, he... would've.]
no subject
[Ahhahahaaa... ugh.]
I'm sorry. This was just a conversation I... I've thought about this for a long time, but I was never really sure how to tell ya.
no subject
[People actually?? Like him????]
Well, I guess I can't blame you. It's... a lot to take in.
