[And so, later after that absolutely lovely end to the trial, the guests of the Murder Manor (tm) will find themselves with an invitation slipped under their doors. The handwriting is godawful but still legible, hopefully. They're not signed by anyone though.

Though, when you actually get there the food is.... definitely not anything you'd ever want to eat. There's chicken in jello, vegetables in jello, cake in jello. Like, nothing is free of jello.

Oh, and the drinks? Among them is a bowl labeled vodka, but it's definitely not vodka. It's actually straight up vinegar, but no one has to know that right? 

Last but not least is an absolutely lovely banner made out of a bed sheet hanging over the door that leads into the area that just says "FUCK YOU" in big letters.

[ Here's some broth, let's get this all cooked up. ]

I don't think allowing me use your blood to write someone's name is "the least you could do". Personally speaking.

[ She stops in her busy work. Back to Jane, the muscles in her face tighten.

And she turns around. ] I...guess it's not. But it was really... It was the most I can do, given the circumstances, so...I wanted to help.

...I think it was. I mean, I would have done it myself, if I really had to. Probably. [Her voice wavers at that last bit. She clears it.]

But after everything, you did help, and you've done a lot for me, so...

[What else can she say? Or do?

She can give Kim a hug right there. That's a start.]

[ A hug. Oh, she readily returns a hug.

There's a lot she could say. How she's been struggling with helping people without being a "hero," how she isn't sure what she wants anymore, how she's got a little brother around Jane's age that she rarely sees due to her busy schedule and her parents' divorce and she's desperate, desperate to keep anyone there safe.

But all of that... All of it would be a lot, for one girl to hold, so Kim keeps holding it instead. ]

Any time. [ A squeeze. ] I'd do it again and again.

[Hugs are good. She thought she'd be giving her mother and little brother each one, right about... a couple weeks ago.

So, right now, she's glad to have someone around that understands.]

Well... I should hope not. [She pulls away after another squeeze. By now, there's just the hint of a tired smile returning to her face.] I wouldn't like what happened to happen ever again.

[ The faintest smile in return, as she ruffles Jane's hair lightly. ]

Me neither. For now, let's...keep on trying our best to stay safe. Alright?

[Hmm! It's a bit strange, she would have been less appreciative of a hair ruffle a few weeks ago. But she's definitely appreciated Kim.]

Alright. I'll do my best. [A sigh as she pulls back.] Now, uh... how about the broth?

Oh! Right, lemme get that all heated up. Be ready in a jiff.

[ it's instant so it won't take long, it's fine ]

It's no problem. [She has patience.... a lot of patience, to be honest.]

It'll be nice having some food that isn't in jell-o.

Ha, yeah, no jello. Jello-free zone, here.

[ Well, give it...a few minutes, a good few minutes and we'll have this all ready. Nice easy-on-the-stomach food. ]

[And now... the wait. Jane doesn't seem like she's going to go off and wait, so.]

You know, it's been a long time since I cooked with someone.

Really? How come? It can be real fun, get your mind all...relaxed.

[A little scoff.] And I'm sure that's what I need.

[And she's kind of short so reaching things up high is Fun.]

...I don't know.

Well, you should try it again sometime. Keep your spirits up.
