WEEK 2

[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

[She sees the look, and feels like she should stop, but she's too busy low key freaking out to do so.]

I... I don't know how old it was, but it was new enough that it couldn't have been that old.

Where? [He stands up and looks around the room. Did he miss something when he was mopping? Surely dust didn't settle in that quickly. Not that he was a good judge of that considering he rarely slept on the same planet more than three ties.]

I'm not sure, but... [She twirls a finger around, an unspoken gesture for him to turn around.] You, ah... you have a few dust bunnies on your back.

[That's a weirdly toning down of yelling and he isn't sure how to keep up his own yelling while still looking moral.]

...Three months, tops?

[...That's kind of flarped up.]

Well... [positives, positives] They did say there's a lot of ghosts here. And a graveyard, so who knows where they got that?

[Certainly not from the previous guests.]

[He turns around on command and cranes his neck to take a look.] How about that! A borrow of dust bunnies have already decided to move in. We gotta take you guys somewhere safe!

[Looks up at Elsa.] Sorry, I'll just run over to the kitchen and dust them off.

[Oh geez, leaving clumps of dust and dirt where they keep all their food...]

Ah, there's no need! Would you like me to help you?

Conservatory

[Star sees colors flashing through the doorway, and goes to investigate. When she spots Karolina, she stops dead in her tracks and stares.]

...Are you a rainbow.

[ Alright, that gets a laugh. ]

No, but I am pretty full of colors.

[Oh flarp that's sad and suddenly she feels really guilty.]

Oh, um, however old you are, you look great for your age?

No idea what you're talking about, kiddo. [He probably doesn't even know what keelhauling is. Such a sad life he leads.]

Yeah, of course! It's probably just from one of the ghosts here. Fiddles did say that's probably where it came from anyway.

[She doesn't look entirely convinced by this, as hard as she tries.]

Study

[Sylvia was a bizarre mixture of quietly terrified and completely bored. After boredly wandering around the mansion she finds herself in the study, just idly trying to extinguish the first by pouring water on it. Not that she really wants to, but maybe something will happen if she manages to succeed?

When she sees sees Elsa aimlessly wandering, she gives her a tired wave before splashing some more water at the fire.]

Having fun too, huh?

[Ugh she almost wished someone would die just so something could happen.]

[If nothing else, Wander's offer caught Maui's attention. He reeled back, as if he had been slapped, and then blinked wildly at the young thing in front of him.]

You really understand all that? How?

[Star gawks for another couple of seconds before picking her jaw up off the floor.]

Hoooooow are you doing that!? Is this an alien thing?!

So all this... actually makes sense to you? [Rather than throwing it, Maui picked up the next book and studied it intensely. It didn't make sense, filling pages and pages with information.]

Why not just... paint whatever story you're trying to tell? It seems easier than pages and pages of whatever this is.

[UH. Once more, Maui found himself frantically reaching for a weapon he didn't have. His eyes were wide and wild, filled with both surprising and terror.]

How did you do that? [He shook his head, hair cascading around his shoulders. For the first time in your long life, Maui, focus.]

And, uh. How is your head coming off going to be beneficial for me?

[Today, Star has an audience in her quest to get upstairs. He even has popcorn.]

I don't think the speed matters.

Trying. [Punch] To get. [Punch] us out of here. [Without his inhuman strength, though, it just makes his hands hurt.]

I thought I could beat the staircase, get past the... weird extra steps. But that didn't work, so now we're trying this.

[Maui opened his mouth, to say that he was a demi-god and that these human walls wouldn't hurt him. However, at that moment, he looked down and saw both the bruises and the cuts appearing there.

Weird.]

Uh... Thanks, kid. [He reached out, grabbing the towel and placing it against a damaged hand. His breath escaped him in a hiss.]

That's... really weird, I won't lie.

So you're trying to outrun the stairs... [Judging by the tone, she actually thinks that's a good idea. Even if it's magic, maybe there's a breaking point in it?]
