FIFTH TRIAL

[Today marked yet another death, and your good friend Randall is here to hype all of you guys up for this! As the room stretches, he speaks.]

You all know the spiel here, don’t you? Stretching room, I’m the Phantom, always my way, blah blah blah. We should get on with this. I want to see how it ends.

[A candle is lit and a voodoo doll placed out for Prince Kit. Your shitty ghost pirate friend is prepared.]

Trial start.

[TRIAL START!]

Bit odd, taking a book back to one's rooms, and then going back for another without returning the first one. Possible though.

...Isn't that what libraries are for, though? Takin' out books?

[personal profile] not_over_yet 2018-02-17 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Usually one returns the book once finished with it.
bayoublues: (uhm)

[......]

Ohhhhhhhhh. I was wonderin' how libraries manage to stay in business.

Probably one of several reasons I’m not welcome in some libraries.

Or bookstores.

[personal profile] nachosquire 2018-02-17 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, he could have finished the first one and then grabbed the other one?

[No one said anything about On The Road being missing, after all.]
not_over_yet: (an aside)

[personal profile] not_over_yet 2018-02-17 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Also possible, though it does raise the question of how he removed said book from the library postmortem.
nachosquire: (what is it where did it come from)

[personal profile] nachosquire 2018-02-17 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
He didn't have to remove it after he died. He could have gotten it like, way before he was murdered and just... never had a chance to put it back.
not_over_yet: (thinking)

[personal profile] not_over_yet 2018-02-17 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
That leaves the question of his being there at all... I wonder if the body was moved.
nachosquire: (ew)

[personal profile] nachosquire 2018-02-17 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It.. could be I guess? But I feel like we need more evidence before jumping to conclusions about that.

[Says Marco, the boy who wasn't even at investigation bc.. he slept in or something.]
not_over_yet: (eugh no)

[personal profile] not_over_yet 2018-02-17 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
...Before deciding on a given theory, certainly, but why avoid suggesting possibilities?

[ ...Cause that seems kiiinda weird? ]

[personal profile] nachosquire 2018-02-17 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
'Caaaause I don't really get how the book fits in with the murder, I guess? So I just wanna like, focus on one thing at a time y'know? Take it all step by step, otherwise we might as well just point fingers at everyone without any evidence to back it up.
not_over_yet: (thinking)

[personal profile] not_over_yet 2018-02-17 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
...That's not wrong, but. [ You're being weird, Marco.

Perhaps some sort of caffeination should be required for everyone before trials, that would likely avoid these scenarios...
] We'll return to the point later, should it seem more relevant.
nachosquire: (?????????)

[personal profile] nachosquire 2018-02-17 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, okay. Sure.

[he's just a small boy who missed an investigation for once hes Confused]
bayoublues: (oh geez)

[personal profile] bayoublues 2018-02-17 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he was just gettin' started on On The Road, maybe--

Wait a sec. The book that's missin', the writer's name is...Kafka, right? With an A? The guy who wrote On The Road was called Jack...Jack, um....something with a K and an E. Which is after K and A.

[Louis seems to be struggling to come up with the words to phrase this idea. He looks like he's about to reach a conclusion, but--]

Maybe Kit just forgot to put it back.

[He's not very bright okay.]
nachosquire: (?????????)

[personal profile] nachosquire 2018-02-17 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[You're doing great, sweetie.]

Maybe he wanted to re-read it?

[personal profile] bayoublues 2018-02-17 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Maaaaybe? What's a met-o-morph..metamarf--whatever, what is that book about, anyways?
nachosquire: (he cute here)

[personal profile] nachosquire 2018-02-17 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Metamorphosis?

[He didn't know what book it was but he got the gist from Louis' attempt.]

It's like... when something changes from a little caterpillar or worm or whatever into something cooler. Like a butterfly.
bayoublues: (hmmmmm)

[personal profile] bayoublues 2018-02-17 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhh.

[He frowns. Basil had said what book had been missing, but how did that information help them in any way?]

Why would someone wanna read a whole book about a caterpillar turnin' into a butterfly?
nachosquire: ((nothing witty to add))

[personal profile] nachosquire 2018-02-17 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[of course basil said that i'm Here i promise]

I'unno.

[Marco shrugs a little bit at that.]

He could have found it really interesting or.. I mean, I guess the murderer could have taken it but I don't understand why they'd want to?
bayoublues: (you ok)

[personal profile] bayoublues 2018-02-17 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[pat the blake]

Hmmmm. Weird.

[That's really all he can say on the matter.]
athleticallyinclined: (well not that one)

[personal profile] athleticallyinclined 2018-02-17 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
He read more than one book?

[ Gaston frowns, disappointed. ]

I thought better of him than that.
