ENDGAME GROUP 1: The Other Box (Log 2)

[Off-screen, the groups manage to reunite themselves once more. More notable than anything else is the little black floating box, though if any of you have any information you wish to exchange, now would be an excellent time to do so.]

Walt's Pen?

As best I can understand, yes. If 'animation' refers to the giving of life...and isn't that what the pen is meant to do?

[She wishes she'd thought to bring the book, so she could get a better understanding than the title alone could offer.]

The way Walt described it to us was that anything he drew with the pen became real. He said he discovered its power when he was drawing bees and one stung him.

Was there any mention of a Crystal?

[Belle frowns, trying to think, and then shakes her head.]

No, I don't think there was. Of course, it's possible I'm interpreting the text wrong, that it refers to something else entirely...I've learned a lot about the modern world, but I fear some interpretations still escape me.

Hm... When Walt took me and Ford to show us his secret room, there was the pen but then there was also a crystal that he said had the power to sustain and extend life. The pen could... animate, in the sense that things he drew would move on their own, but the crystal has to give life to...inanimate things.

[The pause is a brief realization in which he looks at Belle and the Beast and then files it away to bring up later.]

Or, as he used it, to extend the lifespan of someone who's already living.

[Belle's interest is more than piqued, but when Lefou mentions bringing life to inanimate objects, she blinks, looks up at the prince, and returns her gaze cautiously to Lefou. She's...not sure how to broach what's probably a very tender subject, still.]

Then it is very dangerous indeed for these items to be in the hands of a wrongdoer.

The only hope we have is that these items must not exactly be self-explanatory.
