...I made a deal. A long time ago. In exchange for powers beyond what the crystal and the pen could give me.

In exchange, I needed to create those seals. The catch was that they could only be activated by individuals who had participated in a very specific ritual.

...One that I recognized when I saved the first group.

No, no. That's - that's not it. I didn't create those rituals. I didn't have anything to do with them. It's just that...the terms of the deal were to create those.

I didn't know anyone would go through with putting it into action.

I...I don't know. If the other seals are activated, you might not have a home to go back to.

I know you have an idea.

We need to kill the people responsible, cover up the seals, make sure this never happens again.

That's a good plan. [Smiling encouragingly.] How do you cover up a seal so it's never used again?

They only to ensure the seals are useless is to magically seal them or activate them.
