Belle hurries over to Ariel, looking almost completely lost in thought.]

Ariel—? Could you help me by gathering up anything you see that could be used in a machine? Ropes, lengths of wood, anything. I'm going to try and put together a catapult.

[Finally, all of her reading about machinery and physics is paying off!]

[Belle's already setting off through the church and then out to the marketplace, and even though she'd rather not outright steal...she needs these things to protect her family. Her friends. Adam.

When Ariel comes back, Belle has hauled a large bucket, several long lengths of rope, a small handcart, and several mechanical bits and bobs that she may or may not have scavenged off of existing machinery in town. It's fine.]

[A quick thumbs-up and she's away. Ariel collects as fast as she can and then hurries back to Belle.

But uh oh. It seems like Belle is mostly done when she returns. She still dumps what she got in hopes it'll help finish things up.]

[Not to worry, Ariel! Belle didn't find everything she needed, and from a glance she can see that you filled in the gaps nicely. She grins, already pulling the cart out in front of the church, filled with her own findings.]

[It's hard work, but Belle has a good mind, and she's quick on her feet. Every so often, she asks Ariel to hold something in place, or fetch an item from the pile. Before long, they've got...

[Belle's already got some jars, some rags, some solvent....a torch. And she's climbing up to load up that bucket.]

We're going to launch missiles at those shadows!

[Mabel has. Not been doing good since the whole thing with Ford. She's kind of been on autopilot a bit. But this... this gets a spark in her eyes.]

[She climbs up to and copies what Belle is doing to try and help.]

[With Mabel and Ariel helping assemble, Belle's soon got a whole stockpile of molotovs ready to go. She looks...really excited as she loads one up into the bucket, lights it with the torch, and then steps back to cut the rope.]

PULL!

[THERE IT GOES FUCKING EXPLODING INTO FLAMES AS IT SOARS TOWARD THE HOST OF SHADOWS]

[Belle's got fire shining in her eyes when she turns back to Ariel and Mabel, grinning ear to ear.]

[Gesturing at the rope attached to the catapult arm. Belle weighs like a hundred and twenty pounds, she's going to need a little more leverage.]
