[It's been a very long, and very upsetting morning, and honestly, Ford is feeling goddamn drained. All the events of the day have hit him like a ton of bricks. And as much as he wants nothing more than to sleep for about a week...well. There's work to do.

After talking it over with Fiddleford, his first mission is hitting the kitchen and scraping together all the eggs, potatoes, and onions he can find. It takes him a good few hours, but eventually he's got five big casserole dishes full of kugel, steaming hot, fresh out of the oven. He stacks up a big pile of plates, forks, and serving utensils and carries it all into the lounge in trips.

Next is the business of the still. Between the two of them, the two Fords manage to get it into the lounge and set it up on a table where it's easy to access. Ford also pilfers a big glass jug of apple juice for the kids and puts it nearby. All the adults are free to partake of a cup of Fiddleford's sugar shine. They'll be needing it, tonight.

Lastly, are the notes. Ford writes them all out in his neat, block lettering, and slips one under each door—pausing at the doors of the deceased with a sad frown each time.

The lounge is quiet while they wait for everyone to arrive, save for the sounds of banjo music....

Nope, apparently that's what makes it the good stuff. [She raises her cup to lightly tap it against his.]

I normally don't. But tonight, I'm feeling kind of like it's necessary. [She rolls her shoulders, taking another sip.] Oh, and my dad can take almost anything, he's kind of like a bear, but a redhead.

[CHEERS though he's not drinking more just yet. Half contemplating adding more apple juice or just pouring this into a cup of coffee for the ultimate caffeine rush.]

Yeeeah, think that's pretty fair. This was a doozy to say the least. [he snorts] After what I've seen from you? I'd believe it.

[Doesn't matter if you take it straight or not, there's probably enough here to kill everyone twice over. Though, Wendy wouldn't fault Mike for wanting to stay awake.]

Heh, I guess I should take that as a compliment?

[will mike chilton ever sleep again, we just don't know.]

Definitely should. Remind me not to get on your bad side--especially if you've got an axe, heh.

Whoa! Hey, I'm not gonna actually use it on anyone! [Unless someone is really a jerk, then she might just whack them with the flat end.

She lets herself lean back against the way, watching him.] Besides, I don't think you could get on my bad side. From what I know about you, you're pretty cool.

I bet, but it's still a good intimidation act! [and WOW THAT WAS THE WRONG ICON IN THAT OTHER COMMENT but oh well oops--!!! He laughs a bit awkwardly, shaking his head.]

Thanks, but you'd be surprised. I'm just lucky the rest of you guys are pretty chill, too.

[Mike, she can feel your harsh gaze from behind your coat. Chillax a little.]

Yeah? Well, I guess we try to be. [She points with her cup hand to the rest of the people mingling around here. No one seems to be in entirely good spirits.] That whole thing that happened today? That was a bit much.

It's no trying. You guys are good folks. Yeah, what happened today was straight up--awful? Traumatic? Confusing?? I dunno what word I should use here. But we've been here for nearly a month, and all but one of these cases? Total set ups and accidents.

Call me naive or whatever but. . .dunno, I think we can make it. If we could survive whatever that was, I think we're all ready to take on whatever comes next.

Hey yeah! A group like this? We could probably take on anything that gets thrown at us. [They almost did, if they hadn't gotten out of the trial before things went sour.]

But, I think you could use all of those words to describe what's going on. Things got seriously freaky down there. But maybe things won't be so bad from now on? [She shrugs.] Oooorrrr, they will be!

Oh, it'll probably still be bad, for sure. But we'll work it out, I'm sure of it. [He grins, holding up his cup, as if an invisible toast to everyone gathered.]

Besides, we gotta do the little furry dude and all the others proud, right?

[Wendy brings up her own cup, clearly psyched by this.] Right! We definitely can't give up on any of them, especially a guy like Wander!

[But now that she's actually thinking about him, instead of trying to block out the pain, she looks around, suddenly hit with a sense of calmness.]

Man, he would have loved this party. It has banjo music and everything.

[Wander is like a walking fluffball of nostalgia, it's true. Mike laughs a little, nodding.]

Heh, definitely. Except he would have totally made party hats--even one for the chicken! Gotta go that extra mile.

[Well, the 90s/80s are alive and well in Gravity Falls...]

And probably the piano too. I mean, he'd definitely do that.

[She laughs at the idea of it, but it slowly begins to die in her mouth.]

Man, he would.

[oh no. It's like a cycle of self inflicted sad. Mike taps his cup against his chin.]

He would, huh. . .

Well then! Why don't we do it for him? Shouldn't be too make one up, yeah?

...Wait, really?

[That earns a raised eyebrow from Wendy. But, at least she isn't delving into yet another despair spiral.]

Hey... yeah! We should give it a shot. How hard could it be?

[And then one of them dies.]

[A noble death, all in the memory of a weird furry alien from space georgia. He gets to his feet, ready for this.]

Nothing either of us couldn't handle! Heck, turn one of these party cups upside down, toss a couple strings on it, and boom, a hat ready for festivities. And I don't think a piano is gonna be too picky.

[Even the little furry alien guys need some appreciation.]

Nah, that's totally the easy part. The hard part is getting the thing on the big guy. [Judging by her tone, she's already fit to volunteer.]

Oh yeah? Sounds like you've already got an idea in mind. [He's grabbing another cup, already poking holes in it.]

[She likes the way this guy thinks.]

Ooooh yeah. I've never wrestled with a piano before.
