[It's been a very long, and very upsetting morning, and honestly, Ford is feeling goddamn drained. All the events of the day have hit him like a ton of bricks. And as much as he wants nothing more than to sleep for about a week...well. There's work to do.

After talking it over with Fiddleford, his first mission is hitting the kitchen and scraping together all the eggs, potatoes, and onions he can find. It takes him a good few hours, but eventually he's got five big casserole dishes full of kugel, steaming hot, fresh out of the oven. He stacks up a big pile of plates, forks, and serving utensils and carries it all into the lounge in trips.

Next is the business of the still. Between the two of them, the two Fords manage to get it into the lounge and set it up on a table where it's easy to access. Ford also pilfers a big glass jug of apple juice for the kids and puts it nearby. All the adults are free to partake of a cup of Fiddleford's sugar shine. They'll be needing it, tonight.

Lastly, are the notes. Ford writes them all out in his neat, block lettering, and slips one under each door—pausing at the doors of the deceased with a sad frown each time.

The lounge is quiet while they wait for everyone to arrive, save for the sounds of banjo music....

I... I thought it couldn't hurt. [Please don't judge.]

...yeah, I guess not. I've seen a few people trying to call up the ghosts of people they know...I was wondering whether to try it myself too, actually.

...I thought because I had something of someone who passed away it might work. [Is she looking at the barrette? She is.]

[...oh. She gives a single nod.] That makes sense. It's...too bad it didn't? [She's not sure if that's rude or not.]

It is. I... don't think I'd know if it did or not, though.

[She nods.] I guess if...extra ghosts show up or something. [Another pause] Um...what was that song called?

[That question makes her blink before she shakes her head.] No idea. A lullaby, I think.

Yeah, I guess those are just...things you hear. [Tip slowly moves over to sit next to Anna, glancing over at the crystal ball again.] Um...would you mind if I tried, too?

Of course not. Maybe we can get something out of it together?

[Tip nods.] I don't really have any songs, or anything personal...just... [After a bit, she just knocks on the crystal ball.] Hey chief. It's me, Tip. I knew you said I could handle myself, but I figure you didn't expect stuff like this to happen. So...if you're out there somewhere, we could all use your help. [A pause] Yeah, I know you don't have special Indian powers over ghosts. I just need a friendly face, you know.

[She's quiet during this, lowering her head.] ...I hope he heard it. I--I really didn't know my family so I just thought I would use something I had of them.

[Tip nods.] I...I'm sure that they could hear you too. Even...even if they didn't actually appear to us.

They probably don't want to scare us.

Yeah, that makes sense. Even Casper the Friendly Ghost always has to say he's friendly out loud.

Casper?

Oh, um, it's an old American comic. [She pauses] You know, now that I think about it, it was about the ghost of a little kid. Which is...kind of sad.

Oh. That explains it. [Wait.] ...Who would write a comic about that?

I'm pretty sure they didn't want people to think too hard about where he came from as a ghost. It was just meant to be a story about learning not to be scared of people because they look different or something. He had a whole ghost family and pets and everything.

Oh, that makes sense. I guess if he has pets and a family then it can't be too bad. Why can't all the ghosts be like him?

Well, even in the story most of the ghosts weren't like him. His family wanted him to be scary too. I guess...the makers of the comic wanted some conflict. It's harder when you're more alone?

That... makes sense. If all ghosts were friendly he wouldn't be the 'friendly' ghost.

Yeah. [A sigh] But if there's one like him here they'd probably be drowned out by all the other people...

There has to be friendly ghosts out there that's not just him. I mean. I bet I would be friendly as a ghost.

I certainly hope so. But yeah, I think I would be too. Can't really think of anything that would make me one of those creepy ghost girls with weird grudges.

Me neither. We'd be helpful.
