WEEK 5
[Wander and Sylvia are dead, the Ghost Host was snuffed out like a light, and Tarzan is nowhere to be seen. It seems like in an instant everything is changed, not just the circumstances, but the mansion itself. It feels like it's gotten significantly colder in the mansion, and you might also start seeing bugs out of the corner of you eyes, darting away into darkness the moment you try to focus on them.
And, starting this week, any and all ghosts are eerily absent but at the same time, no matter where you go, you feel like you're being watched by something. To make matters worse, the attic doors have been nailed open.
But there are some bright spots in this week. When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find that you have a brand new tuxedo hanging up on your bedroom door, in your exact size. Later, if you're curious enough to try going from the second floor to the attic, you'll find that there's a whole new floor to explore, but this time it's just comprised of two rooms: a smallish but serviceable laundry room and an expansive casino with an attached bar.
Don't tell Jiminy about this he will have a heart attack.
Feel free to explore, but maybe you want to keep away from the Stretching Room for awhile. Somebody cut the noose on the hanging corpse.
17 guests remain.]

You can tell me anything, you know that.
no subject
Okay. [ Just... deep breath. It's fine. ] Lefou, I'm... not human.
no subject
I'm- ...Sorry?
no subject
[ She's not looking at him. ]
That's what I've been told my whole existence. I'm only a part of someone else. Back where I come from... when someone loses their heart, if they have a particularly strong heart-- [ like you, Lefou, she almost says ] --they produce two beings. One of darkness, called a Heartless.
One of nothingness, called a Nobody. That's what I am: a Nobody.
no subject
Okay no, but this doesn't... This doesn't change anything, does it? She's...still Namine. She's still Nene.
She's somebody to him.]
...I can't say that I understand completely. But it doesn't change anything. I still want to be your friend.
You're still Nene, to me. No matter, um, whether you're human or not.
no subject
DiZ may have apologized, but she still remembers what he used to say. What Larxene and Marluxia used to say. What the other Organization members, the times they'd come to the upper floors, had said.
We are just Nobodies who have no one to be.
This is so much kinder than she had ever expected. Than she had ever hoped to wish for. ]
You...
[ She's trying so hard not to cry. So, instead of saying anything, she wraps her arms around him and hugs him. Not as tight as she can, but enough. ]
no subject
I'm here. I'm here for you, no matter what.
no subject
You're... a very kind person, Lefou. [ She's not sniffling a little, you're imagining that. ] Thank you... so much...
no subject
I'm glad you trust me, Nene. We're still friends. You're still my friend...
no subject
You've always been there for me... how could I not trust you?
no subject
There, you see.
[He smiles.]
We've come this far already. There's nothing you could do to push me away now.
no subject
But there's... something else, too. Something that's much worse than my being a Nobody.

[ She's read it enough times that she's practically got it memorized. ]
Secluded for most of her existence in a large castle... She's made her mistakes--erasing and modifying Sora's memories being the biggest...
It didn't mention why I did those things.
no subject
[This girl does not have a malicious bone in her entire body.]
no subject
[ She looks down. ]
I did it because... I was lonely. I wanted a friend, because I'd never had one before. Changing Sora's memories meant I could have that... That's what they told me.
no subject
[H o n e y...]
Namine, that's not... That doesn't make you a bad person. They used you to get what they wanted, they just knew how to get you to do it.
no subject
Being lonely is terrible, but making someone into a puppet is much worse.
no subject
[He draws a deep breath and sighs it out. He hasn't told anyone the full story yet, but here goes.]
I don't know when he changed. Or... if he ever changed at all. But I kept following him anyway, even when he-... He left an old man to die in the woods. Knocked him out and tied him to a tree, and made me leave with him. I had nightmares about it for days. But even though I was happy that Maurice was alive, when he asked me to tell everyone what happened I... couldn't do it. My old friend looked me in the eyes and it was like all I could see was the boy who looked after me when I had no one, the boy I, uh- ...loved enough to follow him onto the battlefield, the man I would've done anything for. So I lied. And then I did nothing when he tried to have Maurice locked up.
So, um... Sometimes we do the wrong thing. Because the alternative is being alone.
But you want to make it right, that's what matters now. [He smiles at her.] ...You know, we're really bad at not dwelling on the past, aren't we?
no subject
Naminé swallows hard, wiping tears from her eyes. She knows exactly who he's talking about, too. That Lefou was treated so horribly, made to do those things by someone he'd loved... It breaks the heart she's not even sure she has. ]
I'm so sorry... All those things, they shouldn't have happened to you. He must have known, and he still...
[ She wipes her eyes again before looking at him. For him, she'll try a smile, and... it's a good try, but not too successful. ]
... We are. It sounds so easy, to not dwell on it... but it's so much harder than I'd ever thought.
no subject
But when she tries to smile at him, he makes sure to give her one of his own.]
They shouldn't have happened to you, either. They knew what they were doing to you, what they were asking of you. It's not your fault.
It doesn't help that everything keeps happening.
no subject
Maybe someone should tell her a thing or two about stress and what it can do to a person. ]
Mm... [ She nods. ] Sora, at least... before I fixed his memories, he didn't blame me at all. He'd been upset about what I did, but... he's so kind, and he has such a big heart, he forgave me so quickly. [ She wishes she could forgive herself like that. ] He knew he wouldn't remember me, but... he even wanted to thank me for fixing the thing I'd put him through.
no subject
Sounds like he's a pretty smart boy, Sora is.
[He inhales deeply and squeezes her tighter, then pulls back so he can meet her eyes.]
You did the right thing, fixing it. You did what you could to make it right.
no subject
[ It takes her a moment to look up at him, but she smiles gratefully. ]
I couldn't not fix it... He deserves so much more than being someone's puppet.
