WEEK 5

[Wander and Sylvia are dead, the Ghost Host was snuffed out like a light, and Tarzan is nowhere to be seen. It seems like in an instant everything is changed, not just the circumstances, but the mansion itself. It feels like it's gotten significantly colder in the mansion, and you might also start seeing bugs out of the corner of you eyes, darting away into darkness the moment you try to focus on them.

And, starting this week, any and all ghosts are eerily absent but at the same time, no matter where you go, you feel like you're being watched by something. To make matters worse, the attic doors have been nailed open.

But there are some bright spots in this week. When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find that you have a brand new tuxedo hanging up on your bedroom door, in your exact size. Later, if you're curious enough to try going from the second floor to the attic, you'll find that there's a whole new floor to explore, but this time it's just comprised of two rooms: a smallish but serviceable laundry room and an expansive casino with an attached bar.

Don't tell Jiminy about this he will have a heart attack.

Feel free to explore, but maybe you want to keep away from the Stretching Room for awhile. Somebody cut the noose on the hanging corpse.

17 guests remain.]

[Thankfully(?) that wound isn't as raw as mos of the other ones on Elsa's heart. It's... less picking at a scab and more poking at a very fresh scar. It hurts a lot, but it's not damaging anymore.]

Oh, no, our names aren't that fancy. I'm not even sure if they have any sort of special meaning... but it seems appropriate, don't you think? Almost everyone considers their mothers to be some sort of goddesses, so it makes sense that Mama's name is so different from ours.

[A slight smile.] Yeah...I guess there's no real need for her to keep whatever naming theme your grandparents had. [And another nod.] Moms are awesome. My mom's just...a normal mom, I guess, but she managed to become a leader when the Boov invaded our planet and abducted her to a "human reservation."
defyingfrigidity: (so if you care to find me)

[She doesn't quite get all of it, these "Boov" and talks of a human reservation? But she gets the gist of it; a planetwide invasion, and her mother was one of the leaders of the resistance. Elsa looks pretty impressed!]

"Normal" mom? She sounds extraordinary, to fight back against an invasion on that scale.

Ah, um...she didn't really fight back, although I guess maybe some of her followers wanted to. What she did was organize everyone and help them stay calm during all of it. [A pause] That was really important too, though. Lots of people looked up to her.

I see. In some ways, people like that are more important than generals. After all, if there are no people to look up to, nobody to help take care of the scared or the injured... those people won't be able to keep going on.

[It's like... the person she's always wanted to be. The queen she's always wanted to be.]

That just makes her sound even more amazing.

[She nods.] Yeah, she was. I was so surprised about that at first-I actually thought she might not be my mom! [But she smiles.] But when I saw her, I knew there was no mistake.
