WEEK 5

[Wander and Sylvia are dead, the Ghost Host was snuffed out like a light, and Tarzan is nowhere to be seen. It seems like in an instant everything is changed, not just the circumstances, but the mansion itself. It feels like it's gotten significantly colder in the mansion, and you might also start seeing bugs out of the corner of you eyes, darting away into darkness the moment you try to focus on them.

And, starting this week, any and all ghosts are eerily absent but at the same time, no matter where you go, you feel like you're being watched by something. To make matters worse, the attic doors have been nailed open. 

But there are some bright spots in this week. When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find that you have a brand new tuxedo hanging up on your bedroom door, in your exact size. Later, if you're curious enough to try going from the second floor to the attic, you'll find that there's a whole new floor to explore, but this time it's just comprised of two rooms: a smallish but serviceable laundry room and an expansive casino with an attached bar.

Don't tell Jiminy about this he will have a heart attack.

Feel free to explore, but maybe you want to keep away from the Stretching Room for awhile. Somebody cut the noose on the hanging corpse.

Did-did you get someone to look at it after that at least? [He hasn't been walking around on half-healed ankles all this time, has he? Oh god that's terrifying.]

[toogoodforhim]

That was about ten years ago.

[He smiles reassuringly.] I'm fine, I promise. I've got strong ankles.

[pardonmylanguage]

...if you're sure. I'll still try to cover it up quick. [She looks thoughtful.] I guess you could bend down first-that might make things faster.

[toogoodforhim]

[He nods. She's small enough he could just lift her up, too, but this is probably easier.] Climb on.

[He bends down on one knee, with his back to her so she can climb up on his shoulders.]

[pardonmylanguage]

[Tip grabs the canvas and scrambles on, taking a while to make sure she's steady.] Alright, I'm ready! Let's do this!

[toogoodforhim]

[Once he's sure she's steady, he gets up like she weighs next to nothing, one hand holding one of her knees to make sure she stays steady, and the other holding a handful of the bedsheet.]

Now give it a good toss over!

[pardonmylanguage]

[She throws it, and it settles into place. She throws her arms up triumphantly.] Got it in one! [The evil is defeated.]

[toogoodforhim]

[He laughs, shifting his grip so that he's holding onto both of her knees so she doesn't topple backward when she throws her arms up.]

Good throw! [He reaches up to lift her off his shoulders with a grunt, setting her back on the ground.]

[pardonmylanguage]

[She laughs a bit as she's set back down.] Thanks for that, by the way.

Thank you for the help. I was about to try my luck dragging over a chair to stand on.]

Well, I think you're a lot better at this than a chair would be.

[toogoodforhim]

[He chuckles and takes a bow.]

Well, I do try to be more entertaining than the furniture, anyway.

[pardonmylanguage]

Well, you're succeeding at it. I certainly prefer your company to the furniture already.

[toogoodforhim]

That's good! And I prefer your company much more than the furniture, too.

[pardonmylanguage]

[She smiles quite brightly at that.] So, what else were you planning on doing today, other than handling this television?

[toogoodforhim]

I'm...

[Going to get wine-drunk and sulk, honestly.]

...You know, I didn't plan that far ahead.

[pardonmylanguage]

[A pause, then she sighs.] Yeah, there really isn't much to do, is there? [She doesn't really have the energy to do another house-wide baking event. She shrugs.] Boardgames?

[toogoodforhim]

[...Well, you know what, it sounds better than moping.]

Sure. You'll, ah. Have to teach me how to play.

[pardonmylanguage]

Yeah, no problem. [As they head to the game room:] So, what kind of game do you want to try today? Something with strategy, or something that's more about luck?
