WEEK 5

[Wander and Sylvia are dead, the Ghost Host was snuffed out like a light, and Tarzan is nowhere to be seen. It seems like in an instant everything is changed, not just the circumstances, but the mansion itself. It feels like it's gotten significantly colder in the mansion, and you might also start seeing bugs out of the corner of you eyes, darting away into darkness the moment you try to focus on them.

And, starting this week, any and all ghosts are eerily absent but at the same time, no matter where you go, you feel like you're being watched by something. To make matters worse, the attic doors have been nailed open. 

But there are some bright spots in this week. When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find that you have a brand new tuxedo hanging up on your bedroom door, in your exact size. Later, if you're curious enough to try going from the second floor to the attic, you'll find that there's a whole new floor to explore, but this time it's just comprised of two rooms: a smallish but serviceable laundry room and an expansive casino with an attached bar.

Don't tell Jiminy about this he will have a heart attack.

Feel free to explore, but maybe you want to keep away from the Stretching Room for awhile. Somebody cut the noose on the hanging corpse.

Really? I guess I thought it was all a little more high tech then that. [relatively.] Hey man, I'm all good with normal cars. Whatever gets you somewhere quick enough, right?

What, thought there would be aliens and teleporters everywhere? S'little more grounded than that. Lots of holograms and robotics stuff though. [He'll move to give her some space, watching that shot. Can she do it??]

But yeah, my ride Mutt does the trick. Besides, cars are kiiind of banned. They're not too popular.

[A low whistle as she prepares her next shot.] Mutt. Nice. Kinda wish I had a car I could give a cool name.

[...Mike, you can't just lay down a fact like that. It gets her to pause and look up at him.]

Wait, so, cars are banned? Dude, what did they ever do to Detroit? That's like, the motor capital of the world.

You don't have one? [Take advantage of the past, Wendy!!] I thought everyone had one or two back in the day.

And yeah, it is. Or it used to be, anyway. Dunno what happened before my time, but the big man in charge now destroys them on sight. Even has car burnings, just to rub it in.

[She snorts.] I'm like, fifteen, man. I don't even have a licence... nooot like that's stopped me from driving other people's cars though. [And she's pretty good at it too, if she does say so herself.]

Wow. This guy sounds like a major piece of work.

So? [??? how is that a problem ????] Wait, folks have driving licenses? I mean, I guess that makes sense, but, well. Said it yourself, doesn't really stop anything! You should totally nab yourself one when you get back, bet you could pull all sorts of stunts.

[He's being very hopeful here. He takes a shot himself, a little clumsy, but in the hole it goes. He snorts at the remark about Kane.]

You have nooo idea. Used to be my old boss, too. His idea of a great severance package is tossing a guy off a building, heh.

Wait, you don't? [????????] Dude, that's... awesome.

[Some things don't change, Mike. Especially rebellious teens.

She gives him some light applause at his shot.] Nice. The shot, not your boss. He really threw a guy off a building? Geeze, what does this guy even do?

Heh! I'm a rebel without even knowing it, nice.

[Rebellious teen mental high5!! He taps the pool cue against the table lightly, more than willing to take a moment to bad mouth Kane.]

Runs the whole city! Or the top half at least. [A beat.] And I mean like, really runs it. Makes all the rules, has an army. S'why being out here was kind of a culture shock at first, no one's ever been out of the city with him in charge. Our own personal dictator.

This would've been a nice vacation if not for, well. Everything.

[Whoop, time for her to take her next shot! And... it's a miss. Nuts. Time for trash talking.]

No way, you're seriously? [oof.] Wow, and I thought I had a hard time during my last few days in Gravity Falls. Military dictatorship, huh? Guess those movies were shockingly right.

[She gives him a nod and a smile.] Hey, if we ever get out of here, you should come visit Gravity Falls. It's pretty great now, and basically the total opposite of a high tech city.

Heh, that'd be nice, yeah. [He's just not going to go into how that either means everyone he knows here is proooobably old or dead, and he isn't sure what still even exists outside the city. He leans over to figure out his next shot. Why so far away from the hole, ball!!]

What about you? How's life in an old down to earth town?

[Wendy's pretty certain that if anything could survive a changing world, it was probably Gravity Falls.]

Oh, you know. [Or don't?] It's small, and just happens to be so far out in the sticks that the guy who founded it literally fell of a cliff.

[She leans on the table, waving her hand in a so-so gesture.] Oh, and trust me, it's anything but down to earth. I don't know if anyone told you, but the town is full of weirdness.

[He wrinkles his nose, unsure if that was a joke or not. He hopes the founder was okay after??? Welp.]

I know it's full of ghosts too, apparently. But c'mon, how weird can it be when ghosts are the new norm now?

[He's fine!! considering the fact that he's still alive... after a hundred years or more.]

Let me put it this way: I've seen gnomes, jerk unicorns, a sea monster in the lake, dinosaurs, and freaky cultists.

[She starts to aim her next shot.] Aaand that's just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
