WEEK 6

[Another week has come and gone, and three more people are dead. Nearly half of the guests are dead in a little over a month. The ghosts are still not reacting, and with Demyx's execution one has to wonder if the ghosts are even here anymore.

In the very least one more floor has been opened up: the trophy room, a shooting gallery, and a bathing room.

... Maybe keep Kiara out of the trophy room.

[Today is an eventful day for Wendy.

Wendy found the shooting gallery. There is an uncomfortable amount of guns in here, even for someone that would have been rather hype to hold a rifle. Fortunately, if you're exploring and spot her aiming at one of the targets... and fire a BB round, you're gonna see her sighing with relief.]

Holy cow. [She glances back, someone's there. She waves sheepishly.] It's alright. They're fake.

[Wendy might have been relieved, but it was clear that Maui was more uncomfortable than ever. He jumped back as she fired, then -- once it was clear that the device she was holding was done being weird, barreled forward to look at it.]

Red, two questions for you: How did you do that, and what is this?

[She wasn't expecting Maui of all people to be in here, or to jump like that. Huh.

She grips the rifle firmly when he comes barreling towards her to check it out. It's not a real gun, but she's definitely not going to have it pointing at him.]

...What? Wait, you've never seen a gun before?

I mean, I have but [Maui flexed one arm, then pointed with the fingers of the other one.]

These are different, yo.

[thumbs up] Eeyyyy.

So are these though. In my time, there's like, hundreds of different guns, all for different stuff. Mostly shooting things, and hunting.

[Fingerguns!!!! You're his favorite, Wendy.]

That takes the fun out of hunting though, doesn't. You're just... letting something else do the work?

[She takes great pride in that, Maui 'the rock' johnson.]

Ehh. It's not like it's much different then using a bow and arrow, or a hook. It's just a tool.

[She turns back to the targets, fiddling with the reload on her gun.] Besides, I usually use a crossbow instead. It's quieter.

Sure, but at least with a hook, you're hands on. The kill happens practically in your hand. [He stopped, grimacing at his words. Talking about killing probably wasn't the best idea in a murder mansion, even if he did mean monsters and/or wildlife.]

What's a crossbow?

[Wendy kind of makes a face. Yeaaaah, maybe don't go waving that around, big guy.] Sure, but when you can't do that, these work too.

[She blinks.] Oh, it's like... a bow and you can just push a trigger and it fires the arrow. So it's like a gun, but arrows.

Arrowgun. [Maui's eyes seemed to light up. Maybe he liked being hands on, but that? That sounded pretty cool. Probably would have made a world of difference in the fight against Te Ka, too. It wouldn't have killed her, but at least it would have made for a decent distraction.]

I want one. How do I get one.

[Wendy is almost positive that a guy like Maui would like to be hands-on. He brings to mind her dad, who would certainly like to try and feel trees with his bare hands.]

I dunno. Kinda wish I had my own crossbow, though. Maybe you'll get lucky and there'll be one in that slot machine.

[She aims at a target, and fires. Hits it in the shoulder.]

Maybe if we got all the bits I could make one?

You know what? Just for that, I'm gonna take more of those dumb coins down there soon. [His one attempt hadn't gotten him anything worthwhile, and while it did seem to help Anna, it also traumatized Namine. Not a good trade-off, if you asked him.]

I hope we can get those "bits." Or your crossbow. Think they'd be nice enough to let that happen?

What? You haven't? [Wait.] I mean, dude I totally understand that. Every time I put in some coins a dead thing pops out.

[At least they got zebra tacos one time. The other times were less fun.]

Hey anything possible. Maybe they'd do it in the hopes that you'd kill someone with it.

[Haha.... ha....]

See what I mean? But I'll try again, just for you.

[He paused, considering his words in the context of his own. For a moment, Maui almost looked sheepish.]

I mean. So you can have your weapon, not so that you can hurt anyone. Because, uh, you wouldn't. I know that.

Aww, that's sweet. [She'll be honored, especially if something dead pops out on Maui. It'd be kind of funny.]

And yeah, I wouldn't. I hunt sometimes, but I'm definitely not going to go after anyone here. That's pretty uncool. [None of these people are sweat bat meat either.]

Ugh, Don't say it like that. [Sorry Wendy, you're getting a shove. A playful one, but even Maui's playful is probably a little too rough.]

Yeah, okay, good. I'm just... checking. Can't lose you, or anyone else here.

[It's still a shove from Maui, so Wendy's gonna need to take a step back from that. But she's still feeling pretty hearty about all this.] Alright, alright. I see what you mean, man. I don't want to lose anyone else anymore either.

[she's honest.]

Least I'm pretty sure a big guy like you wouldn't go down easy, huh.

Probably not. [Maui looked a little troubled as he spoke, though, his dark brows knitting tightly together over his eyes. He shifted a bit, reaching up to rub at the back of his neck before lowering his hand once more.]

I'm more vulnerable now though. Don't know how I feel about that. You'd think people would hesitate out of fear of being smiteded, but... [He shrugged.]

[Elsa's only vaguely familiar with the idea of muskets and other similar guns, being from a time where the favored weapons of soldiers are still swords and crossbows, but guns aren't unheard of in her time. And that's why, when she peeks her head into the room at the sound of a shot, she just sort of. Cringes.]

... Do you think they'll stay that way?

[She looks up. Oh, it's Elsa! The... person she probably should be firing guns around.

Um.

She lowers the rifle, holding it firmly in both hands, fingers off the trigger.]

Well, the way it is now, it looks like they're all filled with BB rounds. So, at least they're safe for now?

For now.

[She doesn't really look all that convinced. They're okay now, but once they're given their motives for the week, who knows what might happen? Oogie seems like the kind of monster who would switch them out for the real thing just to give them an easy way to... do what he wanted them to do.]

Do you think we should... keep an eye on them, somehow...?

Oh yeah, definitely. [She's not naive enough to think that a scenario like that couldn't happen. Their new host was that kind of weird bad guy.]

Maybe we could even shove them all in a closet or something. At least try to keep it all under wraps.

And maybe work out some sort of guard posting? It might not completely negate the chance that something might happen, but... it might help in the aftermath, at least.

[Yeah, Elsa's pretty much given up hope on the chance that nothing will happen at the end of each week now.]

Yeah, if you think it'll help. [Which it might not, or possibly just give someone select access to the guns. who knows.]

...Hey, you really think someone's gonna kill again?

That's...that's a relief.
