[Another week has come and gone, and three more people are dead. Nearly half of the guests are dead in a little over a month. The ghosts are still not reacting, and with Demyx's execution one has to wonder if the ghosts are even here anymore.

In the very least one more floor has been opened up: the trophy room, a shooting gallery, and a bathing room.

... Maybe keep Kiara out of the trophy room.

Honestly, I don't know what it is, or how it's alive. But he's my responsibility, so... [Maui shrugged.]

But I think most chickens will eat whatever they put in front of you. Birds are kind of weird like that.

Seriously? That's pretty screwed up. Didn't know you were so sinister sounding, little guy. [He'll pat Heihei's head. It rattles?? jeezus. Note to self, wash hands.]

Well anyway, didn't stop you from going all out. The grub looks great, man.

[Despite the rattling, Heihei still let out an squawk. It was friendly sounding, at least. Probably.]

I'm glad you think so. You should probably get something, before it all disappears. Pretty hungry myself, after all.

[mmm note to self, don't name any cars after chickens. Mike gives a little laugh, shaking his head.]

I'll grab some leftovers, if there are any. Plenty of folks here that need more of a meal than me, so it's good you're looking out for them. Thank, though!

[The demi-god looked a little concerned and a lot unconvinced. His massive arms crossed over his chest once more, a stern look leveled on the kid.]

--well, you know. [he makes some vague hand gestures. SURELY HE ATE...AT SOME POINT...?] Proooobably in the morning? I know I had a coffee. And a soda! So, you know. I'm all fueled up.

Let's go with pig. Guess I could use some protein--still not used to the whole fresh vegetables thing.

You know, usually I'm the one making sure folks take care of themselves. This is pretty different.

Pig it is. [A rather... Maui sized portion was heaped onto the plate. Uh, sorry, Mike, hopefully he won't make you eat it all.]

I get that. Me? I'm used to thinking only about myself. Guess this place has made things weird for all of us.

[Yeah he might be screaming internally while looking at that portion. THIS...THIS IS FINE....He's just gonna smile and try to get a normal forkful of it.]

S'understatement right there. But you never really struck me as a selfish guy--kinda cocky and full of yourself, sure! Not that that's surprising, there's a lot of you to be proud of, heh. But selfish? Nah.

[The large man had to pause for a moment, squinting at the boy with clear confusion on his face. Maui remembered telling Mike the details of his selfishness, and yet... ]

You're a weird kid, you hear me? Weird.

[Mike looks up at him with a blink of confusion, taking a bite of the forkful of meat--woah this is good pork, dang!! But he's not one to think many people are inherently selfish. Everyone has their reasons, after all. You just have to find them.]

Me? Well, guess you're not wrong. We're all a little weird, yeah?

This is seriously some smoking grub, by the way. Never had anything like it!

Me? Not weird. I'm what you people like to call awesome. [Nevertheless, Maui spoke with something of a knowing smirk. He was definitely weird, if he was being judged against the mortals at least. And... he was probably okay with that.

If nothing else? He was relieved for the shift in conversation.]

[Mike snickers at that, opting not to press. He types his fork against the pile.]

I mean, I'll try. I appreciate you looking out for me, buuuut you do realize two of me barely makes up your biceps, yeah? Don't think my stomach can handle it!

[That... got his attention. Maui looked between his biceps to Mike, back to his biceps and then to the boy once more. Right.]

I mean. How else do you hope to get big and strong?
