SIXTH INVESTIGATION

[It's another week, and we're fast approaching two months in the mansion. Maybe you're used to people dying on Friday, but maybe you hope the deaths will stop before there are none of you guys left. However, any hope that this will be a normal Friday for once will be completely dashed when you realize that there is a smokey smell hanging in the air when you first wake up.

[Well, the glass smells faintly of alcohol, if that gives you a clue.]

[Well, that means one of two things, someone was in here at night getting crunked...

How much glass is there, exactly? Like just a huge amount?]

[There's a decent amount of glass. Definitely enough to really cut someone up if they weren't careful.]

Oof. [Just a light groan to herself. Just what they needed.

She checks the counter for anything else of note (blood, viscera, other things that'll scar them for life) before moving to check the floor.]

[That's it for the counter.]

[Awesome. That part of her life is out of the way.

It's with a heavy heart that she realizes she'll probably have to check out the rest of the room, so, let's see what the floor's looking like. Ford seems to be doing the same thing.]

[First of all there's a lid of some sort on the floor.]

[Well that's not too shocking to Wendy, there are plenty of lids in kitchens.

But she'll still bend down for a closer look at it.]

[First of all, if Wendy saw the jar lying near Fiddleford, she should quickly realize that the lid is a match to it.]

[She does realize it rather quickly, seems rather obvious it would match up to the jar. But for the sake of clarity, she sniffs it a little, testing for... she doesn't know for sure. Probably moonshine.]

[While there's some alcohol on the cap, there is something a little more pressing than the alcohol.

There's bleach residue on the cap.]

[Immediately jerks her head back. Phew, that sure isn't a smell you forget easily.

The implications of this... are not lost on Wendy. She'll just add this to the evidence they might need and keep going.

[Well there's an open bottle of bleach under the sink as well.]

Why would...

[And as she turns around, she notices... that. Even before she gets a closer look at the bottle, it's pretty obvious what's inside it, or should be.

She picks it up, checking inside to see just how much is left.]

[There's around a half a bottle left.]

[Can the bleach have just disappeared like magic like the last time this happened? That's plausible, isn't it?

As long as she's down here, she'll at least try and find the lid to the bleach bottle.]

[Star revived from the dead and took all your bleach.

While Wendy is looking for the cap, she should be aware of all the burned towels on the floor.]

[Goddammit, Star. We have to have a talk about your magic.

Boy this floor is a mess, but at least someone had the idea to put some towels out in case there was a mess? ...No, no, this is bad. Detective shows have told her that much. She stops in her other search to search through the towels, checking the damage because this is her life right now.]

[There's quite a few towels, all burnt in some way, although none seem to be hiding anything.

They are, however, definitely mostly concentrated where all the burns are.]

Okay...? Guess the mess was too much to handle. [She murmurs to herself as she continues to search. The towels were definitely some sort of important clue in all this. And she was starting to put a picture together in her mind.

She makes a quick note to check if any of them are wet.]

[Quite a few of them are wet, especially the ones on the floor.]

[Alright, that. Makes things a bit more confusing. Hmm.

The towels were obviously used to clean something up... and then got burned? She can already tell this will be a confusing case. No pressure or anything.

But before she goes over to Ford, she gives the floor one last check.]

[There is nothing on the floor.

On the kitchen table, however...]

[Of course, the one place no one would think to look.

Wendy picks herself up, having spent so much time looking at the floor that she felt a little silly about not doing that. She goes over to check the table.

....This is probably going to be fine.]
