[Two months. Two months of being trapped in this mansion. Two months of heartbreak and despair. Two months of wondering if you are all going to die here.

You finally have a real ray of hope thanks to Mr. Walt, but even he claims that it will be a hard journey ahead. You all have to be strong, physically, emotionally, any kind of strength will work against what you're up against. Maybe take the next few days to rest before the long journey, or prepare for the dangers that await, the choice is yours, but...

[ She brightens up a little when she sees Mike. He's always been the voice of reason, and he takes care of them, doesn't he? Like a big brother. So... after so much care, he deserves to be taken care of, too. Even if it's just breakfast. ]

I did. You can help yourself. [ A sheepish smile. ] I'm sorry. Some of the food isn't as warm anymore, but I hope it still tastes okay.

Heh, you kidding? Some of my favorite food is day old stuff that's been left out or fridged. Makes it taste even better! [which is to say, he's a teenager that just leaves shit out for days.]

It all still smells great too. Like something nostalgic, you know?

[ She laughs a little, at least. ]

Really? I didn't know that.

[ But, ah. She's really glad. She makes herself up another cup of tea, with cream and sugar. She could understand what he means, if she were to dip into Sora and Kairi's memories.

But that's not fair to them. And all this time, hasn't she been wanting to discover things for herself? ]

Nostalgic... Do you think so?

Yeah, totally! [He goes to pick up a plate of pancakes and leftover bacon, looking it over.]

It's like--well, before here, I've never had most of this stuff before. And if I did, never in a way like this. Waking up to good smells, and people waiting for you at a table and all that. It's weird, but it makes me feel like like I'm remembering something that never happened, but something I wish was there.

Heh, saying it outloud, that sounds kinda weird, huh?

[chainbroke]

[ Immediately, she shakes her head. ]

I don't think it is at all. Before coming here, I'd never even had my own room with a bed. And I'd never had so much time to get to know people. I'd always been moving around, traveling from world to world... I didn't ever experience anything like a breakfast made by a friend, or most of the things I've done here.

So... I understand what you're talking about.

[Mike blinks in surprise; it somehow still not registering til this point that Namine WASN'T from a fairly normal family. He'd just been assuming she was...extremely sheltered in one way or another. He stares at her a moment, and then gives her a little smile.]

Oh. . .well, look at that. Good to know I'm not the only one out of the loop here.

If it wasn't for the--[awkward hand gesture, indicating ALL THE MURDER...]--. . .this really wouldn't be that bad of a life, huh?

[ She nods and lets out a little laugh. ]

I still have a lot to learn, too. But... I'm glad I've been able to, with everyone here.

[ ..... yyyyyeah. ]

I-I agree. If it weren't for that... mostly, it would be nice.

[Murder ruins everything, news at 11. He takes a bite of the pancake.]

From what I've seen, you're a heckuva fast learner, so no doubt you'll pick up more of this domestic stuff. You deserve it after all, and I don't think there's a soul here that would disagree.

--and seriously, just to prove the fast learner thing? These pancakes are great.

[ Oh no, he's going to embarrass her! She's blushing a little. ]

I didn't think they were that good, but thank you. I still have a long way to go before I can make anything like Papa can, though.

[He grins, leaning over to give her a light elbow nudge.]

It is! Don't sell yourself short, yeah? [Then a beat--"Papa?" He almost thinks she's referring to Ford, then he remembers how she clings to Lefou. Ah]

Oooh, he's a chef too, right? But hey, even if you can't mimic him, it means you're putting your own personal touch out there. Bet he's plenty proud of that!

[chainbroke]

[ She laughs very quietly at the nudge, and gives him one in return. ]

I'll try. It's... something I still need to work on.

[ She nods. ]

I hope so. And besides... I wouldn't want to copy him exactly. So you're right. This is more than good enough, right?

[He snickers lightly at the nudge--she is so dainty, gosh!!]

Don't worry, I'll be sure to remind you.

But yep absolutely! Everyone's got their own style, after all. You bring you to the table--Namine style, no matter what you're doing. And that's what folks wanna see.

[ He's so good at encouraging people, and she admires him for that. Naminé thinks for a moment, then smiles slightly. ]

Hm... I think Mike style would be comforting. The kind that makes people feel at ease, and which makes them feel warm and happy.

Huh--? [Well that catches him off guard. A SNEAK ATTACK.]

Heh. . .really? I dunno about that, but if you're saying so, well shoot, can't really tell you you're wrong, now can I?

[ It makes her sad, that he doesn't realize just how important he is and how much he's helped them all. ]

Sometimes, we need someone else to tell us our best qualities. And you've always been so encouraging to everyone... It's wonderful to see.

[Oh no, that expression. He gives her a big grin.]

Well, if it makes you happy, then it's GOTTA be right, yeah? Look at you, giving out little nuggets of wisdom. You're right, it's give and take, so I do appreciate it. Guess we all need a reminder sometimes!

[ She laughs, a little sheepishly. Geez, Mike!! You really know how to embarrass a girl. She's not even upset, though. ]
