[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

[Another attempt! He taps a foot that time, so close.]

I'd rather keep the corpse somewhere we can ignore it.

Theeen it probably shouldn't stay up here! Cuz it's sure distracting me. Hup--[UP HE GOES AGAIN, and there he goes missing again.]

And hey, who knows, maybe the guy's got something on him that could tell us a little more about this place.

You got anywhere you can actually put it after you rob the dead? [She doesn't sound really judgemental-or at least more judgemental about the "nowhere to put it" than the "grave robbery" thing]

Dunno, haven't gotten that far--[UP WE GO AGAIN]--maybe can pull up some floorboards? Or maybe they'll let us out so we can put it in the graveyard.

Maybe you should get a confirmation before you bring the corpse down on us.

Aw, it'll be fine. Worse case scenario I'll put 'im back up there. Maybe in a bag so it's uh, less fragrant. [UP AGAIN. How would he even get the body back up there? No time to think about that!]

Aaaaaand...how will you do that?

. . .good question! I'll have to figure that out when he's down.

That does not sound like a good plan at all.

Yeah I'm more of a make stuff up on the fly kinda guy. [ONE MORE JUMP, ANOTHER KNOCK WITH THE BROOM...still nothing yet, dang. He'll pause for a sec, trying to figure out what he's doing wrong.]

Might not need to worry if I can't get up there. Just need a few more inches.

I mean, those stairs are probably a better choice if you just want exercise.

Tried them! But wasn't getting anywhere. Literally.

No point in running when there's no where to go, you know?

I mean, it's kind of like one of those exercise machines then, isn't it?

Sort of! But this is more of a challenge. And--[one two three, another jump, kicking himself off the wall. He manages to smack the body. It swings a bit!]

--I've gotta get a bit more creative with this!

[A pause as she thinks it over] How long does rope last anyways? I just realized it should probably have broken on its own already... [She backs up a bit more in case someone decides to make that a self-fulfilling prophecy.]

[aboyandhiscar]

It's probably rotting up there with the body. 'Course, we don't really know how long he's been up there! [Up again!]

This would be a lot dang easier if I could reach the rope. Just one snap and bam,done.

He looks pretty old-fashioned. But for all we know one of those other ghosts replaces the rope regularly or something.

[aboyandhiscar]

You think so? Man, that'd suck. For the rest of your life, you're on rope duty. They've gotta have something better to do for like, eternity.

Maybe one of them is the ghost of a murderer who liked strangling his victims or something. So he gets to keep doing the same thing here. [She's mostly rambling now, really.]

[aboyandhiscar]

That's pretty specific, kiddo. [but it gets him to stop jumping for a bit, at least.]

Though wouldn't that make this place totally heaven for a sicko like that?

Hey, seems in stories most ghosts are murderers or murder victims. And stories are all we have to go on for most of this. [Big shrug]

Fair enough! So far we've only seen one ghosty though, so lets just keep our hopes up we're not dealing with a houseful of spooky serial killers.

Yeah, that's definitely the bad option out of all options for a house full of ghosts.
