WEEK 2

[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

Something has to give.]

I mean, it's kind of like one of those exercise machines then, isn't it?

Sort of! But this is more of a challenge. And--[one two three, another jump, kicking himself off the wall. He manages to smack the body. It swings a bit!]

[A pause as she thinks it over] How long does rope last anyways? I just realized it should probably have broken on its own already... [She backs up a bit more in case someone decides to make that a self-fulfilling prophecy.]

It's probably rotting up there with the body. 'Course, we don't really know how long he's been up there! [Up again!]

This would be a lot dang easier if I could reach the rope. Just one snap and bam,done.

He looks pretty old-fashioned. But for all we know one of those other ghosts replaces the rope regularly or something.

You think so? Man, that'd suck. For the rest of your life, you're on rope duty. They've gotta have something better to do for like, eternity.

Maybe one of them is the ghost of a murderer who liked strangling his victims or something. So he gets to keep doing the same thing here. [She's mostly rambling now, really.]

[aboyandhiscar]

That's pretty specific, kiddo. [but it gets him to stop jumping for a bit, at least.]

Though wouldn't that make this place totally heaven for a sicko like that?

Hey, seems in stories most ghosts are murderers or murder victims. And stories are all we have to go on for most of this. [Big shrug]

[aboyandhiscar]

Fair enough! So far we've only seen one ghosty though, so lets just keep our hopes up we're not dealing with a houseful of spooky serial killers.

Yeah, that's definitely the bad option out of all options for a house full of ghosts.

[aboyandhiscar]

And what would you consider as a good ghost option?

[pardonmylanguage]

...maybe something like the type where you just have to finish off something they've been trying to convey cryptically and then they go on to whatever's next.

[aboyandhiscar]

Oooh, those are a classic.

Maybe deep down, we're supposed to be doing that here, but Mr. Host just can't tell us. For all we know, he really wants a non-murdery happy ending.

[pardonmylanguage]

[A shrug] Maybe. [Her shrug widens as she rambles.] For all we know he actually wants us to take down that body and give it a proper burial but he has to say the opposite. [...] Not to say you should do that now still, since we don't have any way to give it that burial.

[aboyandhiscar]

[NOPE too late, the idea's in his head. Time to keep jumping.]

Well now that you put it that way, I've definitely gotta get it down. Maybe they'll open up the place just for that!
