Week 3

[Three people are dead in the span of one day. Two of which did absolutely nothing to deserve their gruesome deaths. Hopefully, no matter how silly this hope is, it's the last of the deaths in this hotel.

But maybe it's not all bad now? When people awake this Sunday, they will find that the door for 225 is now open, and for some reason leads to a bunch of cool new rooms to explore! Maybe this would be a great opportunity to bond over each other to make sure no one else dies again.

And no one else will die again, right?

I don't have parents! Doctor Finkelstein built me because he needed an assistant. I guess that would sort of make him my father, wouldn't it? I think he thought of it that way.

[ Thalia slumps a little in relief. ]

Good... That was easier than I thought. [ You know, she'll eat the teeth taco. ] ...'Least it tastes good.

None taken. Just 'cause we're on the same side doesn't mean we know how to compliment each other. That takes time. ...Time we might not have.

DINING ROOM MEETING

[It's that time again, folks! Just like before, there's signs posted up, and Chip's scrounged up some paper and writing utensils.]

So, uh, before we begin- anyone seen that weird doll? I thought I saw her upstairs by the pool, but when I got down here I could've sworn she was by the kitchen...

...anyway, um. Has anyone found anything? Or I guess gotten anything we could use out of the machine. I've got a weird bag I can't open, but it sounds like there's stuff inside it.

That seems like an awful lot of work pumping water...

[She wrinkles her nose, leaning over the edge slightly to try and see to the bottom.]

It's about as clean as the rest of this place, I suppose...

[It takes her a few minutes to notice Chip's presence, but when she does, she nearly jumps out of her skin, pressing a hand to her chest and shutting her eyes for a moment.]

Goodness! How long have you been there?

[.......okay, she's seen some weird things but this is something else.]

You were built? Like...like a machine? But you're alive! Is it magic?

[Sally arrived just after Chip starts the meeting, carrying Tina in her arms.]

Did we miss anything important?

[Belle's gaze slides up toward Thalia, and then back toward the painting. She purses her lips.]

I know. It's...eerie. But look...his daughter. That poor girl...Whoever she is, I'm certain she didn't deserve such a father.

[SORRY BELLE you startled him in turn. Chip settles down quickly, though, when he realizes she was just spooked]

Sorry, only a couple minutes- I didn't want to bother you!

Oh. If you guys get candles out of the machine, could you pass them on to either me or Reyna?

[She's not going to outright tell people not to light them, because she enjoys sticking it to the man and also blatantly not doing what authority figures tell her to, but she figures she should at least . . . attempt . . . to look like she's trying to keep the candle problem under control.]

The only thing I got that might come in handy is a candle, although I’m not sure how useful it’d be unless we suddenly run out of other light sources. Other than that it’s all mostly been greasy food and weird outfits.

[He can’t really say anything about the doll because he’s been both avoiding her and also trying not to think about her at all, so.]

I got a heart. [beat] I mean, Oswald said it's the pig's heart from Snow White, but it was still an actual heart. So just be careful when opening cool-looking boxes.

[She stifles a giggle, realizing that she's startled Chip just as much as he startled her, and shakes her head.]

I'm sorry! That's very kind of you. I suppose I was so focused on my reading that I didn't hear you come in.

You sure looked like it. Can I ask what you were reading?

Yeah. I mean, you don't have to but we thought it might be nice to have some extras.

[Actually Rod asked them not to light the candles and she figures that doing her due diligence in trying to collect them means she doesn't owe him for the candles he gave them. He did not specifically tell her she had to inform everyone else what the candles do.]

I got my oldest costume from the machine. I'm not the only one who has received belongings, right?
