[After everyone is done investigating/disabling an alien, they will hear a quiet click near the staircase. When they approach the staircase, they will find that there’s a whole new set of stairs, going even further down.

The stairs go deep down, and it takes while before there’s any end in sight, but eventually they reach door. Behind it is a large, completely gray room. If it weren’t for the massive table and strange podium sitting in the middle of the room, the guests would be instantly shocked by how empty it is otherwise. But the feeling of emptiness grows the longer they stay in the room.

The door closes behind them when they all enter the room. If they look, there is a similarly gray tv set sitting at the end of the table, right in front of the podium. Despite it’s age, there is a VHS player connected to it.

Well it sure is lucky you have a VHS tape on you, right?]

[Wednesday morning is unusually calm for the first few hours. Maybe you woke up and had a nice breakfast to start the day, or decided to hang out in the spa to ease off some stress from the weeks, or maybe you just slept in today because frankly, you all deserve it.

Until around noon, where Rod’s distorted voice calls through the entirety of the hotel, sounding unusually panicked.]

[He is suddenly cut off. No matter how long you wait, he doesn’t speak again. But, despite his warning, nothing dangerous seems to be going on, at least on the floors you normally have access to.

However, if you’re in the lobby at the time of the announcement, you’ll realize that the door that was open yesterday when Benny arrived is once again mysteriously open, seeming to beckon you. Whether you decide to all go as a group or go down alone, you'll find yourself going down a hallway splitting into two paths. And if you decide to take one way alone you'll soon find yourself in a group of three other people, going into the unknown.

Even with the apparent threat of danger according to Rod, it seems like if you have any hope of escaping, you have no choice but to investigate the one floor you haven’t looked at yet.]

[16 people have died. Only a third of the guests remain alive after less than two months in the hotel. It's hard to believe the murders will ever stop, even after Rod's and possibly Walt's efforts.

Despite all that, this week seems almost strange. Like something is going to happen soon, although you have no idea if it's good or not. Even though you have no idea what's in store this week, it might be best to prepare, at least mentally for any unusual activity.

No new floors or rooms are unlocked this week. Have fun in your last week of the hotel.

8 guests remain.]

[At that, the elevator doors open once again to the Tip Top Club. With Ursula, Kylo Ren, and Cornelia’s photo’s now in grayscale, the room is starting to look a lot bigger now that so few people are still alive. John is still here, but he is very noticeably sitting further away from the tables sitting in front of the stage. He smiles when the guests enter, but it seems a little off. It’s hard to tell if all the death of innocent people is wearing on him or if he is just genuinely afraid of you guys.]

Feel free to take as much time as you want. I'll be right here if you have any questions.

[Half of you are dead, and at least one of you is apparently a mole. No one knows who wrote the letter, but why would someone lie about this? Especially when neither The Narrator or John came down and call it false.

Despite all that, for a Friday it's almost unnaturally calm. Like it's just any ordinary day.

Maybe you won't have to investigate today?]

[Another week another set of bodies, and now, the guests aren't the only ones dying in this hotel. At this point it seems as though something is attacking the nonguests of this hotel. What's attacking them, however, no one seems to know. But surely you can all find out before more people die, right?

No new floors open up this week, but people will find on Sunday that the locked door on the first floor is now unlocked. It's a good time as any to see what's behind it.

[The usual scene plays of everyone going into the elevator after they finish up investigation. But when the elevator starts moving, they will hear John’s voice instead of The Narrator’s. It clearly sounds like he’s reading from some sort of script.]

Picture of Belle, a book lover born well before her time. She desperately wanted society to treat her like a human being, and to respect her love of books. Belle had made many friends and many enemies because of her personality, and now… Her final resting place will be in a book simply titled… The Twilight Zone.

[... Strangely, however, the elevator doesn’t drop this time, the doors instead open as soon as John finishes his speech, leading once again to The Tip Top Club. Now Reyna and Belle’s pictures are in grayscale and, instead of Rod sitting on stage, John is there, looking at some papers. He offers the guests a comforting smile when they enter.]

I shouldn’t complain that Rod’s doing something creative with his time, but I have to admit, I don’t get what he sees appealing about writing something like this. Don’t know why he had the elevator set to “ride” mode either.

I, uh...made some old fashioned lemonade for you guys. [He motions to the lemonade pitcher and cups on the counter.] Feel free to help yourself.

[He’s… really trying to attempt to lighten the mood of this situation. Please humor him.]

[Five people died last week, but so far besides possibly The Narrator, no one else has died this week. Not to mention your new host seems pretty confident that no one will kill anyone, despite the motive. And hey, like last week nothing seems off… at least with the second floor.

Investigate anyway…?]

Week 5

[Five deaths in one week, and almost half of the guests have died now. The Narrator is now claiming that the man who's trying to save all the guests is a cold-hearted killer, and he doesn't seem to be lying about this. But on the other hand, that doesn't explain why he continues to do any of this, or if he's even an entirely good guy here.

Whether you like it or not, tension is becoming unusually high in this hotel now.

But hey, at least you get a nice new floor to tide you over.

[This is all becoming routine now, to the point that maybe the thought of the elevator dropping suddenly doesn’t bother you. Or maybe you’re just so numb to four people dying already that the thought of dropping isn’t as bad.

Or heck, maybe you’re still dreading the drop, who knows?]

Submitted for your approval, Amanda and Thalia. Two girls who deal daily outside the normal world. They’ve dealt daily with fighting dangerous beings, only to have been struck down suddenly by the mortal coil. For even experience with these terrors couldn’t prepare these two young warriors for the kind of terror one finds… The Twilight Zone.

[And there’s the drop again. At least this is the norm now, and at least once it’s finally done you get access to that sweet open bar.

The Tip Top Club, is, like, usual, the same except the new grayscale pictures of Goofy, Roxanne, Stitch, Amanda, and Thalia. The Narrator is in his usual spot, but it seems like he’s spacing out a little. He does acknowledge the guests once they enter, at least.]

Take as much time as you need. I’ll be quiet this week.

[Have fun, everyone.]

[Two people have already died this week, but no matter how you look at it, the requirements for The Narrator to call off the motive still haven’t been met yet. And with a motive that affects so many, it’s hard to believe that no one else will die this week.

At least, when everyone wakes up today, they’ll find that there’s absolutely nothing off with the second floor.

Investigate anyway?

[Three more people are dead. Unlike last time, the murder was a complete misunderstanding, and could have been prevented. Walt is trying to find a way out, but it's starting to keep up hope.  Maybe Walt will have a plan this week and we can all put this behind us.

On Sunday morning, the guests will find that the stairs in the ballroom are now unlocked, leading to an entire new floor! There's even a spa room to unwind and forget about the horrible deaths.

[When the investigation is done, the door to the boiler room once again opens, with the elevator doors readily awaiting the remaining guests. Like last time, once everyone is buckled in, the elevator moves backwards and then up, with The Narrator’s voice echoing in.]

Dipper and Merlin, despite their age difference, had a lot in common. They both are fascinated in science, the unusual, and an escape out. Last night, they decided to stay up late, only to both find out that they are forever in an eternal slumber. And they’ll soon learn that they’ll be stuck in a never ending nightmare called… The Twilight Zone.

[Once again the elevator stops abruptly.]

You are about to discover what lies beyond the fifth dimension. Beyond the deepest, darkest corner of the imagination… in the Tower of Terror.

[Did you expect the elevator not to drop again? Because too bad, the elevator drops again. After a few more drops, it once again stops at the top floor, The Tip Top Club.

The soft music fills the room and the Tip Top Club looks almost the same as it was last week. Except now Preston, Finnick, Merlin, and Dipper’s pictures on the wall are also in grayscale. The Narrator is still sitting on the stage, but he is now sitting in the chair like a normal human being. In his hands there is the all-too-familiar Talky Tina, that The Narrator is thoughtfully looking over. When the guests enter the club, he finally looks up.]

[Well even without the murder, a lot sure has happened this week, with Walt appearing in people's dreams and your host claiming that he's dangerous. Still, Walt seems like a very nice, and is trying his hardest to get the guests out of the hotel safely. He has also requested that everyone try to stay alive while he forms a plan, so he would be incredibly disappointed if someone ended up killing this week.

But when morning comes this Friday, the 225 door is mysteriously wide open, like someone wanted to use the new rooms.

Investigate?]

[Three people are dead in the span of one day. Two of which did absolutely nothing to deserve their gruesome deaths. Hopefully, no matter how silly this hope is, it's the last of the deaths in this hotel.

But maybe it's not all bad now? When people awake this Sunday, they will find that the door for 225 is now open, and for some reason leads to a bunch of cool new rooms to explore! Maybe this would be a great opportunity to bond over each other to make sure no one else dies again.

And no one else will die again, right?

[As the living guests finish investigations, they will hear a small click from the library. The door in the back of the room is now open, and true to The Narrator’s words, it leads to the boiler room and in the back there’s an elevator, already open for the guests. However this elevator doesn’t look anything like a normal elevator.

The elevator doesn’t start until everyone is seated and buckled in, and when it does, instead is starts moving backwards for a few moments before going up. As it moves, your host’s calm voice is heard inside the elevator.]

Friday the 13th. It’s often considered the most unlucky day of the year, and for young Vanellope von Schweetz, she has encounter the greatest misfortune of all. Young Vanellope, who at the end of the day just wanted someone who loved her, instead found herself with nothing but pure hatred. And now Vanellope will have a new game to call home, a game only referred to as… The Twilight Zone.

[As he finishes, the elevator halts with an ominous creak. There is a long stretch of silence before The Narrator speaks again.]

You are about to discover what lies beyond the fifth dimension. Beyond the deepest, darkest corner of the imagination… in the Tower of Terror.

[And then, suddenly, the elevator drops. Hard. None of the guests will have a clear enough mind as they are suddenly being plunged to the ground to notice this, but somehow, the elevator is moving faster than gravity would normally work. But just before they would reach the ground, the elevator suddenly moves back upwards, and then drops again.

This repeats for what seems for an eternity, until the elevator quickly climbs to the very top and stops suddenly. There is a cheerful ding and the elevator doors finally open.

The doors open up to a 30’s-style night club. It’s impossibly clean for a hotel that’s been out of commission for decades, as, unlike the rest of the hotel, it was never closed. There is a grouping of 12 tables sitting in front of a stage, with a placecard, notepad and pen sitting on each one. Boarding the walls there are also 24 pictures, each one representing a guest. While everyone else’s picture is in full color, Vanellope’s is in grayscale.

Light music fills the room, and will continue to play for the rest of your time here.On the stage, The Narrator is already here, straddling one of the chairs and smoking a cigarette.]

Welcome to the Tip Top Club. I hope your trip here was uneventful.

[Judging by his knowing smile, he seems to know exactly that something went down in the elevator.

Each of you has assigned seating arrangements, though you are free to move about the club as you please. You will find that there are several amenities here, however, your main goal here will be solving the mystery that had been put forward.

Feel free to discuss this amongst yourselves, and once you feel you have an idea of who committed the crime, write their name down in your notepad. Majority rules, and participation in this activity is mandatory.

There will be no set time limit for this trial. I trust that you have found enough evidence to properly figure out who the culprit is.

[But on the bright side of all of this, there’s an open bar for those who already want to forget today.]

[It's Friday the 13th, the deadline for taking the motive. Even the most optimistic guest would have noticed the tensions rising in the hotel. After all, The Narrator seemed pretty sure someone would die in this hotel. Still, there have been attempts to make sure morale remains high in this hotel, and maybe it all worked?

Nothing seems off on the bedroom floor. Perhaps the attempts to keep morale up worked after all?

But maybe you should Investigate anyway]

[It's been one whole week, and no one has died yet. For someone who seemed so sure that someone would die, it seems as if The Narrator was wrong about anyone killing another person. But after awhile, the hotel might seem pretty dull. There is only so much to do in here, and if you don't enjoy books and old board games, it's hard to keep you entertained unless you like marathons of Muppet Treasure Island.

But you can keep this up, right?

24 guests remain.]

[SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY]

grimgrinningghosts: (but of mind)
[personal profile] grimgrinningghosts
[Now that the Narrator is done explaining the situation, you all have time to assess the situation and maybe even work together to find a way out. After all, clearly the Narrator is being over dramatic and it can't be that hard to escape out of here without murdering everyone, right?

But, with the doors outside indeed locked and all the windows unbreakable, it might not be a bad idea to explore the hotel, either for alternative methods of escape or to relieve boredom. Your Narrator is also now available for private chat in case you want to interrogate him or throw more stuff at his face.

If the locked doors aren't bad enough, when everyone goes back to the lobby, they'll notice a plaque on the front desk. If you thought your Narrator wasn't serious before, this is damning evidence to the contrary.

Either way, we really do hope you enjoy your stay in this hotel.]

[ Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday ]

{OOC And this'll be the last mod post for the week! Feel free to drop your coins into the penny press once you've earned them. And because this is a peace week, there will be no murder committed!  And if you plan on investigating, just let us know in your toplevel by putting in INVESTIGATION. Have fun while you still can!]
