Week 2
[It's been one whole week, and no one has died yet. For someone who seemed so sure that someone would die, it seems as if The Narrator was wrong about anyone killing another person. But after awhile, the hotel might seem pretty dull. There is only so much to do in here, and if you don't enjoy books and old board games, it's hard to keep you entertained unless you like marathons of Muppet Treasure Island.
But you can keep this up, right?
24 guests remain.]

Tuesday
MOTIVE: Walking Distance
[The Narrator is already in the library when the guests come down to see what’s going on.his expression is neutral as he speaks.]
I see most of you have adjusted to living into this hotel quite nicely. But this situation is very serious, even if some of you only think this is all just a game to make fun of.
[A very, very pointed glare at Tadashi.]
Because of this, I have been told that the deal needs to sweetened, and encourage those who would otherwise be unwilling to end the life of a fellow guest.
[He clears his throat.]
Every one of you here has had something bad happen to you at some point. Something you regret. Something you would do anything to make right. So, a deal has been made. Kill one of the guests by Friday, and you will get the exclusive opportunity to change one thing about your past. The change can be as small as asking your crush out or as big as saving your hometown. The possibilities of what we can fix about your life are truly unlimited.
You have until Friday to decide if taking the deal is worth it.
[And with that, he vanishes out of sight.]

[ Why would he change his past, he actually likes his life. The only thing wrong is how not rich he is. ]

[but what about everyone else- Chip frowns to himself, unable to think of anyone who seems to have that kind of thing in their past...]

That's not a very good incentive. It relies on killing someone and not getting caught doing it. And besides, there's no guarantee you'd get to change anything.

I'll never hurt someone for you, or whoever it is you're working for.
[But although she tries hard not to let it show...the thought of changing something in her past...
It makes her think twice, because it means there's a chance she could go back and prevent the death of the man...beast she loves.
After a long moment, she looks back up at the place where Rod was only a moment ago, shaking her head.]
That's a dishonorable move. Toying with our emotions...that's despicable.

You’re going to have to do a lot better than that to get us to go along with your stupid game!
[If Thalia could wait 14 years for her brother, he can wait a little longer for Della. He’s happy with his life now; he won’t kill someone to change it... but the fact that he had to think about it is more than a little concerning. He doesn’t doubt there’s people here who regret a lot more than he does.]

[He knows it's possible. Maybe the narrator can do it. But Virgil's not playing along, he's not going to fall for this motive]

....Not like it matters now.
[His luck had finally turned around. Why would he want more then that?]

...breaks into raucous laughter. Pretty impressive for a rat as small as him. Even now he had a hard time believing the trickery of this mystery man.]
You're quite the Faustian type, aren't you? Well, it'll be interesting if anyone takes to your deliciously strung bait, won't it?

Eventually she ends up back in her room. The door doesn't always close (since she kind of broke it her first day here) so if you want to come bother her in there she's just watching Muppet Treasure Island. Again. For the fifteenth time.]

Did you mean to leave your door part way open?
no subject
It's broken and sometimes it opens by itself. [Protip: don't use your powers to force a door open.] You can come in if you want, though.

...He catches her as she goes to reshelve one of the fallen books, moving to pick it up before she does.]
Let me get that...
