[It's been one whole week, and no one has died yet. For someone who seemed so sure that someone would die, it seems as if The Narrator was wrong about anyone killing another person. But after awhile, the hotel might seem pretty dull. There is only so much to do in here, and if you don't enjoy books and old board games, it's hard to keep you entertained unless you like marathons of Muppet Treasure Island.

But you can keep this up, right?

[well, everyone's been getting such exciting things from the penny press, so Marnie's decided to spend her morning trying to get something fun from it. most of it's pretty boring-- a thimble, some papers, a useless book-- but at least the box she's gotten is pretty! and such an interesting latch... she opens the box to see what it looks like inside--

[As luck would have it, Donald had also gone back to the penny press- last time it gave him something of his, so maybe he'd have the same luck again? Unfortunately, this time it didn't give him anything special. Some junk food and a fork to eat it with, presumably, and a tacky pen that's shaped like a carrot. Nothing remotely useful.

He glances over when he hears Marnie's displeasure.]

Anything interesting in there, or are you just as disappointed as I am?

... Because it's you, I can't decide whether you mean that in the normal way, or if you think an actual poor person is behind it.

[ There is. So little. To do. At least no one's dead yet? But staying on guard while simultaneously being in such a boring place is havoc for Thalia, honestly. So. Might as well check out that penny press thing? People have said they've got some cool things, so away she goes. Not necessarily a bad bunch, definitely nothing of hers, but-

Thalia stares at one of the prizes she receives and then just snorts and shakes her head and yells at the ceiling: ] Really?! A typewriter? For the dyslexic girl? Real funny, haunted hotel! Reeeeal funny!

[ Honestly she doesn't seem mad about it, just a little incredulous.

Or, if you don't want to run into her right when this lovely moment of restraint happens, she'll be in the dining hall, with the things laid out, looking for whoever might own them. Flagging you down, potentially. ]

[Amanda is just passing by when she stops dead, her gaze fixed on the diary.]

Penny press. Don't ask me how it came out of it, I don't really get it. ...Is it yours?

That's a lotta stuff you got there.

[Hey, Thalia. Here's Oswald, just checking in with a cup of tea in his small hands.]

Where'd you get it all?

The penny press, in the game room? Ursula got uh...well, a shirt of mine out of there, so I figure it's possible some of these things might have an owner.

[just gonna hop up on the table and- immediately spot the grappling hook]

Oh, hey! I've been wondering what happened to that!

This? [ She doesn't want to pick it up, what if she crushes it ] What is it?

[Belle's passing by the dining room when she spies Thalia at one of the tables, covered in objects. She reroutes, stepping through the door with a pile of books in her arms from the library, which she sets down on an empty table before coming to stand beside Thalia and survey her finds.]

Are these all from that machine?

[ Hi Belle! Here she is with all these nice things! ...and a slightly dinged-up typewriter. ]

Yeah, weird right? Recognize anything?

[Goofy's got a plate full of food he's taken from the kitchen when he walks into the dining hall. He notices the table full of things and sets his plate down, taking a look.] Gawrsh, that's a lot'a stuff ya got there. Where'd ya find it all?

[Personally, Preston's gravitating towards the hat. Using a hankerchief to hold it, he examines it in minor curiosity while also keeping it a safe distance from his face.]

I can't imagine this ever being in style.
