Fifth Investigation

[Half of you are dead, and at least one of you is apparently a mole. No one knows who wrote the letter, but why would someone lie about this? Especially when neither The Narrator or John came down and call it false.

Despite all that, for a Friday it's almost unnaturally calm. Like it's just any ordinary day.

[Well in the very least, there's no body in this room.]

[Thank God. She can't handle that this week.

She starts for the cabinets where they keep the supplies, when her foot catches on something, and she almost falls. It's only through years of careful ice skating practice that she manages to stay partially upright.]

[While Cornelia manages to stay mostly upright, she will hear a snap as she trips over, like something just broke.

She doesn't have enough time to get out of the way before several knives suddenly plunge into her back.]

[Cornelia can keep her shit together through a lot, but being stabbed with multiple knives in the back is not one of those things. She lets out a loud scream, falling to the ground.]

[WHAT IS HAPPENING WHY IS THERE SCREAMING WHERE IS CHIP---

Sally comes running when she hears the scream, and lets out her own scream when she finds Cornelia.]

Oh, no! No!

[Good thing we're in the first aid room. SHE'S GONNA SAVE THE GIRL]

[When Cornelia screamed Virgil thought she had found a body. He hadn't imagined she'd be the maybe-soon-to-be-dead body]

Don't die, Cornelia!

[Better help Sally, Virgil]

N-no-- stay away... [She's bleeding a lot, and is trying to crawl away from Sally, which really isn't helping.]

[Don't you even THINK about moving!! Sally reaches for her shoulders.]

You're not going away. Look at yourself, you're bleeding!

[Don't be so paranoid, Cornelia, they're trying to help you!]

[Virgil actually does make Cornelia stop crawling away. Or maybe she's just too weak? Her eyes are heavy and she can't see or think straight at this point-- is she smiling now?]

[Okay, that's not a good sign. Virgil tries to do first aid, albeit a bit clumsily. Is he supposed to take the knives out of the wounds? Wouldn't that make her bleed out faster? It's hard to do anything with big ol' knives sticking out of the wounds. He has no idea what to do]

Don't you dare die! Hang on, Cornelia!

[If she dies there's going to be so much frustration. The one moment he's in time to maybe save someone from dying...!]

Don't take the knives out yet! We've got to be careful!

[Sally is just... grabbing every towel in the room for the purpose of applying pressure to the wounds.]

[No taking out the knives, understood!]

Don't-- [She lays her head down. It'll all be okay now, Peter's here. She just has to tell him something, first.]

[And with that, she slumps over, and her breathing stops. Sally and Virgil can try their hardest to save her, but no matter what, they're far too late to do anything.

Cornelia Hale is dead.

[IT'S ABOUT THIS TIME that someone's tiny legs get him here. Hatless, Chip nonetheless has the breakfast pizza bagel bite he was making for himself in hand, and hasn't let it go during his run]

[They were right here! In the first aid room! It's not fair!]

[Virgil continues trying to help her, there must be something he can do. He can't let someone die!]

[Oswald heard a commotion, he came running. But like many times over he's too late.]

[He can only stare at the carnage, horrified at this turn of events.]

[Why is there screaming? It takes Tadashi a minute to figure out where the noise came from, but he's there.]

What happened?

[But for once, Joshua is actually less indifferent about it because seriously, what the hell happened in here??]
