[Something is immediately off when you wake up. Namely, that you wake up and find that the curse that was placed upon you on Tuesday has been lifted. Whatever joys you might derive from that fact are few, as the implications of it soon start to set in.

[He had to take the time to put on at least jeans and a shirt before he came out of his room. He didn’t know the woman well - she was his age, or even older, they’d played poker one time. But he also still remembered the unclassy joke she’d made when he was half out of his mind looking for Mabel, so while it was a shame that anyone died he was glad it was her rather than someone he, you know, actually gave a damn about.

Which happens to be who he’s looking for, and he finds her hidden in the neck of her sweater. He sits down against the wall next to her.]

You’re a sight for sore eyes, Pumpkin. Come here.

[He lets her decide whether she wants to climb in his lap or not, but if she stays in sweater town he’s going to put an arm around her shoulders.]

[Stan is probably the only one that can get Mabel out of sweater town at this point. She doesn't say much at first, instead just pulling herself out of her sweater and dropping herself right in his lap. She stays like that for a minute, picking at her sleeve, before she finally speaks.]

I'm glad you're okay, Grunkle Stan.

Hey, c’mon, you know it’d take more than a little curse to take me down.

[He gives her a tight squeeze when she plops down in his lap, keeping his arms around her like a shield.]

Are you gonna be holding up okay?

But you were scared.

[Because of her. She feels bad about that.]

I dunno. I didn't think someone would do this....

I wasn’t scared, I was lookin for who I’d have to fight if something had happened to you.

[Yup, the lying’s back.]

...I was hopin’ nobody would. Not everybody’s as much of an upstanding citizen as your Grunkle Stan.

[That gets... kind of a laugh out of Mabel! It's not her nirnal level of amusement, but it's something. Shame it doesn't last long.]

But why d'you think they did it? That zombie guy looks like an even bigger liar than Bill was! There's no way he'd let everyone go 'cause of this.... right?
