[Well, someone took the bait last week, and now two people (if either of them could really be called a person) are dead. Not only that, it seems like your first host is now out of commission and replaced by someone who claims to be The Phantom. While he may not be incredibly worse than Facilier yet, it would be a stretch to say he's an improvement.

But, things aren't all bad! When the guests wake up on Sunday, they will find the stairs in the foyer are now open, leading to a whole new floor to explore!

And there's booze so no one will have to drink vinegar anymore.

U-Um. It...it makes you do stuff or feel pain or...or whatever the person likes, if they have the doll. A lotta p-p-people use it for evil. If you excuse th-the metaphor, s'like b-being a puppet for the person who c-controls the doll.

[He gulps.] M-Maybe you ought to p-put that down.

I'm not gonna hurt it or anything.

[Though he does tug on one of the doll's arms a bit before setting it back down.]

I don't even know who this is supposed to be a doll of. What if it's not a real person? Sometimes dolls are just dolls.

Well, look at Minnie. Does she look like any mouse you've ever seen?

[sorry minnie he still loves you]

I think it's supposed to be a...a....[He squints at it, tilting his head.] Actually, I'm not too sure what it is.

I've never seen any other mouse before... except for Basil, I guess. She seems normal to me, though.

[his world is full of nothing but inconsistencies concerning how animals work so he. uh. really shouldn't be the one to judge this.]

Me, either. So it's probably not supposed to look like a real person, right? I don't think anything'll actually happen.

[on one hand he's trying to reassure Louis but on the other hand he wants to justify messing around with the dolls more]

Oh. Okay, then.

[He keeps forgetting this child is like...what, three weeks old by now?]

Well, I sure HOPE not. I don't want anythin' to do with that sorta magic. It's, um...[He leans down to whisper:] it's the kind of stuff Facilier did.

[Maybe that'll convince him.]

Cool. He musta been really good at magic, then.

Well, yeah, for all the wrong reasons. He turned my friends into frogs and tried to put the whole town under his control. And maybe steal a few souls here and there.

There's nothing wrong with being a frog... but I guess stealing souls is probably pretty bad.

It's awful--from what I've heard, if you get your soul stolen, you get all your emotions and stuff sucked outta you. You don't feel anythin'. Your eyes get all nasty-like and, and glowy!

[As he talks, he gets more and more agitated. It's unclear how much of this Louis has actually heard versus what he's made up in his panicked mindset.]

At the very most, you'll be a shamblin' husk, unable to recognize even your best friends! You wither away, day by day, 'till you're nothin' but dust. You'll be lost inside your own mind, 'cept you won't even have any thoughts 'bout anythin'! It's...it's--

[He takes several deep breaths, trying to calm himself down.]

Gee... that sounds awful!

[But Louis, uh. Definitely seems to be more shaken up over the whole concept than Pinocchio is.]

Well, um... we don't have to worry about it anymore, 'cause the voodoo guy's not really around, right? So it's okay!

[bayoublues]

Y-Yeah. I...I guess not. He's no longer here. We ain't gotta worry 'bout it.

[It sounds like he's trying to reassure himself more than Pinocchio.]

S-Sorry 'bout that, heh. Um. I've heard--heck, I've seen some scary stuff.

[Good lord Louis let's hope you didn't traumatize Pinocchio. Probably not but]

[Pinocchio's trying to reassure Louis more than he is himself so it's... fine. He's fine. This is fine.]

Um... yeah, it sure sounds like it... but I dunno, I guess I thought magic was always supposed to be good before. Even if it's scary sometimes.

[It's a lesson he was bound to learn eventually? But he probably could've gone without the horrifying level of detail, thanks Louis!]

W-Well. Um. I suppose there is good magic, it's just...for most people, I guess it's hard to not turn to evil when you have that kinda power. I sorta know this voodoo queen called Mama Odie, and she's pretty nice. Crazy, but nice.

[Mama Odie's been on this Earth for far too long to be evil to anyone. Except, maybe evildoers.]

I mean, I know there's good magic-- like the Blue Fairy's, she's real nice. But sometimes good magic is scary, too.

[that whole nose growing thing mildly traumatized him]

Yeah, I guess so. Guess it really comes down to the person, and what intentions they have towards other people.

[His encounter with Mama Odie was vaguely confusing but nonetheless somewhat enlightening.]
