Week 3

[Well, someone took the bait last week, and now two people (if either of them could really be called a person) are dead. Not only that, it seems like your first host is now out of commission and replaced by someone who claims to be The Phantom. While he may not be incredibly worse than Facilier yet, it would be a stretch to say he's an improvement.

But, things aren't all bad! When the guests wake up on Sunday, they will find the stairs in the foyer are now open, leading to a whole new floor to explore!

And there's booze so no one will have to drink vinegar anymore.

What... uh, what are they?

[Even as he makes a desperate grab for his hat, he seems entertained with Spinny, or at least less wary than he originally was.]

I've never seen pets like those before.

Oh, well, they're both kind of from the future! Spinny's a baby hurricane that came out of an egg, and Rocky is an ordinary rock that I brought to life with Pet Polish! It made him act like a dog, though, so you might want to keep your cat away...

A hurricane came out of an egg? [Somehow that's the weirdest thing out of all of that. He already knew Noby had some mess going on with stuff from the future, and he doesn't see anything odd about a rock being brought to life.]

Well, as long as they don't hurt each other, Figaro will probably learn to get along okay. [Eventually.] I mean, he's okay with Cleo, and she's a fish.

Yeah! The future can do all kinds of things, I guess. [He doesn't really know how it happened either. And obviously a living puppet probably won't see anything weird about a living rock.]

Well, Rocky's never met a cat before. So I guess they could become friends. I'll hold him so he doesn't jump at Figaro, and we can let them just look at each other first?

That might work! I guess I'll hold Figaro so he doesn't jump at Rocky, either. [He knew from experience that Figaro could be mean when he wanted to.

At some point Figaro had wandered closer again out of curiosity, so it's pretty easy to scoop him up. At the very least, Pinocchio doesn't really have to worry about getting scratched up.]

[Noby extends his hand, keeping the other one on top so Rocky doesn't pounce. The rock moves forward in the finger cage, sniffing a bit. Soon it gets to the tip of Noby's fingers, sniffing and whining a bit as if trying to figure out what this new scent is.]

Hey Rocky...this is Figaro! He's a cat, and Pinocchio's pet...

[Figaro, on the other hand, keeps reaching out a paw to bat at Noby's fingers in an attempt to get to Rocky. Pinocchio pulls him back every time with a frown, though, and eventually the cat just concedes and leans his head forward to sniff instead.]

...At least he's not scared, I guess?

Yeah, that's good. [Rocky barks happily at Figaro's sniffing approach, before wriggling in Noby's hands and whining a bit.] You want to play together...? Well, it looks like Figaro isn't going to try and scratch you now... [Which would probably be more dangerous for the cat anyways.]
