[ This is becoming painfully routine. Around the dining room, there are signs set up - courtesy of Rocket - that say NO DUCKS ALLOWED. In the dining room itself, there's a variety of foods set up. Various soups, vegetables, chicken nuggets- basically just things so people have something to eat, if they need it. Some simple sandwiches. Thank Lekmet. [Of course Marco is going to use the mirror the moment he has the chance, he's been itching to talk to Star ever since he hung up with her a week ago honestly.

So when he does get alone time with it, he wastes absolutely no time.]

[Marco visibly winces at that, and he holds his hands up in front of himself defensively even though she can't actually hit him or anything.]

Okay, okay. I admit, it was pretty stupid of me to punch the guy forcing us to kill each other.

[He really didn't want to think about that ever again but here we are.]

[Okay the only reason she's stopping there is because she ran out of breath. Fortunately, when she speaks again she's back to her indoor voice.]

There's a hotel here and every single TV is showing us what you guys are doing. Like, all the time. So yeah I saw that. I'm not kidding when I say be careful, got it?

That's what they do. This is fun for them! The guy that ran the game I was stuck in was the same way! Every time they executed someone they sang a musical number! A MUSICAL NUMBER, MARCO!

[Oh, and here's the sudden realization that they probably sang it after she... ok no let's repress that memory even harder]

All these motives, and his dumb BFF act? It's all the same stuff! He's trying to wear you guys down. No matter what he does you can't let him get to you.

It's hard. I couldn't do it. But I know you can.

[Marco can just see the heartbreak in her eyes when she says that-- admits that she let them get to her. And honestly it's hard to hear. She's Star, if anyone could save the day it was her. If anyone was a hero, it was her....

But now it's Marco. And though he's never felt like a sidekick, really, he still feels.. small without her. And it's a lot of pressure to hear her tell him that, practically saying it's up to him now.]

I won't let him get to me again. I'm going to save you, Star. No matter what it takes, okay?

[God this is such an awful situation to be in.]

I miss you so much, and I can't wait to make you a big bowl of Marco's Super Awesome Nachos when we see each other again.

[Hey, don't get the wrong idea, Marco, you're still the sidekick. But he's the best sidekick.]

If there's anybody who can make it out of there, it's you! I mean, you are my squire, aren't you?
