[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

[Well, what do you know. The weird, annoying mop thing that Maui hated so much actually had a brain. Maui might have even said something about it, if not for the fact that he was too busy considering both Wander's words and the concept over all.]

So... every story you've ever told is written down, rather than just being passed around verbally? [Sounds fake but...] Alright. Find me the best adventure you can find. And... replace the hero's name with mine.

Ah, true, you haven't got time with that, what with the... [The being trapped in castles and stuff. Sucks to be you, Naminé] That doesn't matter. You're here and that's what matters right now. Forget about the rest for now.

[Demyx manages to set up the board, just making the mistakes of placing the rooks in the place of the bishops, but other than that it's fine]

So how're you getting along with everyone? Strange bunch of people, eh?

I've seen tribes butt heads over which territory a coconut landed on. Here? We're talking about our very lives being on the line.

Someone will try. We just have to stop them.

Well, since it's nobody's doll, I guess I'll take it! My room needs some decoration.

[He let out a breath. The first person he'd ever trusted this information with had wound up nearly getting him killed. It seemed like a bad idea, telling someone else, especially in a place like this.]

You got a secret yesterday, right? What are you going to do about it?

Like, maybe, you didn't have as much, uhh, hair as the rest of your family?

W-well, let's not be hasty! If somebody lost it, they might be coming back for it!

[ She hesitates for a moment, looking down. It'd be... bad, maybe, if it got out. But at the same time, it's not worth taking a life over. ]

[ She shouldn't be surprised that Demyx is saying something like that and yet... she is. ]

[ Being comforted by Demyx. There's a new one. ]

Strange... maybe. Everyone is very kind. It's... nice. [ She smiles. ] And I even have my own room. What about you?

[Ford frowns.]

Oh. Well. That's too bad, since I already rehomed it.

[Demyx pretends to think]

Who do you think may have lost it?

It's...odd. I hadn't been living for so long among random people ever since, well... [Ever since he had his heart, even though he doesn't really remember much from the times before that] But it's nice! I think I like it.

I have been hanging out with that Mike guy. Kinda reminds me of a cheerier Axel, somehow. Between you and me, I dunno if I should talk with Ax--uh, Lea.

[It's weird to talk with the person Axel used to be. The first encounter went well- Demyx moves a random pawn forward without giving it much thought]

So that Mike guy's nice enough to spend some time with.

That's not a pretty way to say you stuck it into an oven, right?

[Demyx has the feeling it isn't, but he can't resist the chance to tease about that]>/small>

If they wanted to give us exercise, I'd rather they'd give us an actual gym. These stairs just feel like they're constantly taunting me.

It's... very different, yes, from what either of us are used to. We don't have to... really do anything, do we?

[ No missions. No rescues. No orders, no manipulations, no lies. ... Mostly. ]

It's... it's so strange, seeing him like that. So young. [ Her lips tremble, and she looks down. ] It's a little... difficult to talk with him.

[He nods, chuckling.] I did, indeed. I'm keeping him in my room. Are you interested in taking him off my hands?
