[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

[ She's worried, she won't lie, as she begins to put pieces of bread into the toaster. ]

[He let out a breath. The first person he'd ever trusted this information with had wound up nearly getting him killed. It seemed like a bad idea, telling someone else, especially in a place like this.]

You got a secret yesterday, right? What are you going to do about it?

[ She hesitates for a moment, looking down. It'd be... bad, maybe, if it got out. But at the same time, it's not worth taking a life over. ]

I'm... not going to do anything. If my secret were revealed... I don't want to think about that. But I couldn't bear to... to kill anyone.

[wannagetsmote]

No offense, but I wasn't really afraid of you doing anything, Tiny. [He'd been surprised by people before, but a girl like her? He definitely could see her dealing well with having to kill someone.]

It's... definitely a good motive, if this is what they really want us doing. Me and mine? Not worth killing over. But... I definitely don't want it getting out, either.

[chainbroke]

I don't think it's offensive.

[ How can she, when it's true? And besides, there's no harm she can do here without her powers. Even then, there are precious few here who are connected to Sora. ]

Mm, I agree. [ She pauses. ] I'm... glad you wouldn't act on it, Maui.

Are you kidding? [He tried to puff out his chest, tried to offer her a wide, obnoxious grin, but all of his efforts came out half-hearted.]

I'm a demi-god. War is fine and all, but outright murder? Not good for the image.

[chainbroke]

[ Oh, Maui. She knows trying too hard when she sees it. ]

If... [ She hesitates. ] If it weren't for your image... Would you try?

[ It's not an accusatory question. She's genuinely curious. ]

Honestly? I don't know. [He placed his head in his hands, toying idly with his hair as he mulled her words over.]

There's something that I don't want out. Something... something heavy. Something I've been carrying with me all my life. I guess I'm... scared of it.

Yeah. It is.

I see...

[ She's quiet for a moment before she nods. ]

I think I understand how you feel... It's not my secret that scares me the most, but something else that could be revealed, if... whoever has that information wanted.

[ She fidgets a little. ]

But no matter what it is... I think I would accept you all the same, Maui.

Maybe. Maybe a lot of people would. Still doesn't make it easy to believe. [He glanced toward the girl, then away again.]

Tell you what. We make it through this week, and he reveals all our secrets, then... Then I'll keep yours safe if you keep mine.

Promise?

[chainbroke]

I understand.

[ Even now... she's not sure Sora made the right decision to forgive her so easily. And at his promise, she hesitates for more than a second. It sounds so easy in theory, but in practice...

[He breathed a small sigh of relief.]
