WEEK 2
[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.
Something has to give.]
[SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY]
{ooc: Don't forget to turn in your week 1/intro AC! As per murdergame tradition, this begins our new weekly schedule - Tuesday and onwards are locked for the motive. Everybody's just working for the weekend.
Additionally, a few people this week are going to get tagged by...something. If you'd like to opt out of this, please let us know.}

It's just... parchment with scribbles on it. [Thunk]

We're supposed to gently rest them on a nice, clean blanket on top of a flat surface. [He searches for a doily or table cloth. Nope.] Or on a desk, properly handled!
[There. Nice and straight on the desk.] See?
no subject
Nope.
He slammed the book shut and chucked it across the room.]
I think if people wanted me to pay attention to their stories, they would have them make sense. What are those supposed to be? Itty bitty pictures?
no subject
Look at it, it's chipped! [He storms up to Maui and shoves the book in his face. Sure enough, there's a bit of the cover that flaked off.] What about the rest of us that enjoy readin'?
[This is going to be a tough one. Maui doesn't care about books, he's thoughtlessly destroying them, how can Wander reach out to him in a friendly manner?
Simple. He takes a deep breath and smiles.] How about... I read you one of these books?
no subject
You really understand all that? How?
no subject
[Looks at the letters. Looks at Maui.]
Oooooooh. This isn't your language, is it? No worries, you got us!
no subject
Why not just put a picture in there?
no subject
[He scans the page and smiles. The assorted collections of Edgar Allen Poe, human or alien AU, is always a staple in spooky places, how could Wander not have predicted this?] Oh, this one's a classic. It's a short story about-- [Actually, the story about a guy murdering a dude and hiding the body would be in bad taste.] a raven that flies into a guy's room and gets all cryptic and spooky.
[Closes the book.]
Why don't I pick somethin' you'd be interested in? You seem like the type of guy who's into adventure. Adventure book? Eh, eh? [Maybe there is a pirate story in here.]
no subject
So... every story you've ever told is written down, rather than just being passed around verbally? [Sounds fake but...] Alright. Find me the best adventure you can find. And... replace the hero's name with mine.
no subject
[Oh, what's this? Wander removes a thick, dusty book from the shelf. He coughs as a cloud flies into his noses, and when he can breath again:] Moby Dick. Huh. It's about a giant whale, judgin' by the cover. That sound good to you?
no subject
Uh. Yeah, I guess. [Totally not excited or anything. Nope, not at all.]
no subject
You too. Get on over here. [He waves a hand at Mini Maui. Everyone is invited to storytime!]
no subject
You're grounded later, buddy.
Alright. We're ready, I guess. With... a weird thing on my knee. Okay. This is... fine.
no subject
"Call me--" [Right, replace the hero's name. Assuming the narrator is the 'hero'] "Maui. Some years ago--never mind how long precisely --having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world."
[Wander continues, explaining how the titular Maui had always wanted to travel the sea and loved being a sailor. On day, he stays at an inn owned by the ominous-sounding Peter Coffin and begins meeting unusual characters that draw his curiosity...]
no subject
Of course, the story was a little slow going, and without fearsome renderings of the action, he had nothing to focus on. As such, it didn't take him long to yawn, though he still acted interested in what Wander was saying. It was just... different.]
Wait, wait, hold on a second. What's an inn?
no subject
It's a buildin' where travelers can sleep for the night. They're mostly found in towns where there's lots of folks passin' through, so everyone has a place to sleep and eat before they keep on movin' the next day.
[He points to a passage on the page.] See, since he's a sailor, he can't sleep on the ship every day, so he stays on land to eat and sleep for one night. It's a good way to meet other travelers and hear their stories, just like he's doin' now.
no subject
[Maybe not so lulling when you have a dart from an angry coconut in your butt. Other than that, falling asleep on Moana's boat, back at sea after having been stuck on the island for so long? It was comfortable and comforting.]
no subject
no subject
Can't speak for the cold thing, though. Never really bothered me.
no subject
Don't you ever wanna stay at a town to see the sights, meet the people, check out neat landmarks? You can't do all that in less than a day.
no subject
I spent thousands of years trapped on one island, kid. I can't imagine being in one place for more than few minutes? This thing we're doing right now? In this place?
Awful.
no subject
And the stories? What were you up to?
no subject
Stories though? I've got none. I was trapped. Banished, really.

[Better hop off quick, Wander. Maui's rising up and striking a pose.]
