WEEK 2

[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

Something has to give.]

Right, I'm sure it's just from some ghost who doesn't know when things go "too far" for jokes.

[Hahaha that's totally the case here they're not all going to die horrible deaths in this building.]

One stack of pancakes for my best pal comin' right up!

[He jumps off his stool, opens the countertop cabinet, gets on his knees, and pulls out a small sack of flour.]

Nothin' like a big breakfast to get our thinkin' brain's revvin'! Whooo wants chocolate chip?

I do!

[She lazily waves her hand.]

Need any more help with that?

[She supposed now that Wander was done cutting the fruit, she didn't need to worry about it much, but it didn't hurt to ask.]

Hrrgh. [Okay so flour is really dense.] Sure! Can you, uh, pick this up? I'll go get the milk and eggs.

[If Tarzan hasn't drunk all the milk already.]

[You poor small child. She effortlessly grabs the flour from the pantry.]

Of course, bud.

So I'm guessing you've made friends with everyone in this building already?

[She's both curious and just... really hoping everyone likes him enough not to even think about killing him.]

[He grips the edge of the fridge door, slips his fingers in the crack, and pulls it open.]

Almost everyone. I still gotta talk to some of them, but mark my words Sylvia, I have got to meet that lion!

[With one hand, he takes a carton of eggs, and the other holds a half-full jug of milk.]

Turns out we have a like of nice folks here. Anna, the other Anna, WALL-E, Namine, Sophie, Star, Karolina, Mike, Tadashi, Lefou, Ping, Tip, Wendy, Tarzan, Fiddles, Ford, Jiminy...Maui. [It's everyone he has spoken to once, in general order of most likeable to "they could use a lump of love"]

Okay Wander, you and I both know we wouldn't consider Fiddles and Jiminy "nice people"

[She's very Iffy about Maui but also they do share their love for punching and he doesn't sound like too bad of a guy yet.

Sylvia also might not be aware that Fiddles and Wander are actually friends and isn't even as alien racist to him.]

The lion's okay, I guess. Pretty sure she doesn't actually get what's going on here.

Fiddles tries really hard not to be scared, Sylvia! Both he and Jiminy are really nervous - who wouldn't be? - but don't mean any harm.

[As far as he can tell, they aren't stuck-up moralizers or spacists. What nice people.]

Fiddles and I were just talkin' last week about how we both sound so similar, funny ain't it? We can bond over learnin' about each other that way.

Jiminy told me that escaping from this building was just as bad as killing someone.

[Wander, even you should know that that's not right. However with Fiddles she looks more awkward.]

I'm sorry Wander, there's nothing Fiddles and I can bond over. He thinks I'm dangerous. I'm pretty sure if someone dies he'll think I'm the one who did it, no matter what actually happened.

[He pauses for a moment.]

Doesn't mean I shouldn't get to know 'em. Who knows, they might need a bit of reachin' out before they realize what they did.

Yeah, I can't stop you from talking to anyone, [Even if she wanted to.] I just don't think everyone is as nice as you say they are.

[Well he'll just mix the pancake batter in silence. He'll befriend everyone in this mansion even if it kills him.

Once the chocolate chips are mixed in, he turns on the stove and prepares a skillet.]

So...have you made any new friends yet?

[Wander you better not be literal about that.

She ponders over this. Wander did make friends a lot more easily than she ever did. Not that Wander would ever judge, grop knows how long he's know him to be well aware of that fact. Still it felt a little awkward as she thought this over.]

Ford is a lot nicer than I thought he'd be, and Wendy is pretty nice once she got past the alien thing.

[-Oh!]

Star is actually the coolest person I've met here. She almost reminds me of myself, in a way.

[Wander nods at that. Everyone has a good side to them, just as Sylvia is discussing now.]

See? Once they get to know you and you get to know them, it's easier to get along! Heck, even Maui has his own good points. He's strong, he's an important guy, he's got a cute tattoo, it'll just take a few more days.

[He pours a bit of batter into the pan.]

Star really is. We were playin' with the mirrors and the Floor is Lava last week, she's got the pep and cheer to brighten up a real star!

I'm still not sure what to think about Maui. He reminds me of Emperor Awesome way too much but he hasn't tried hitting on me yet so he is at least better than him.

[Although in her opinion, that's not much of an accomplishment.]

Oh right, that's why you were talking about playing Floor is Lava. [Even if Wander is from the past, she did think it was weird that Wander suggested playing that.] Maybe we could have a game night some day together.

[Stiiiiill no Floor is Lava though.]

Is he a good dancer like Emperor Awesome? [Holy hotcakes, he should ask Maui for a dance-off.]

Yeah, Star set up the room, and I can't help but join when when someone asks. I think she had a lotta fun, so we gotta do it again sometime. [A fond smile.] I really like her, Syl. She's got the pep and and energy the keep all our spirits up, yknow?

I don't know how he is at dancing, but it can't hurt to see. [She totally wants to see them have a dance-off too.]

It's a shame I missed out on it. She reminds me of you too, actually.

[Wander chuckles.] I thought that too, but she also reminds me a bit of you.

She's surprisingly strong for a kid. I gotta be careful around her or else I won't be considered the strongest person in this building anymore.

[She supposed Maui was probably stronger than her too, but who cares about him?]

[Maui does not have the strength of character to match Sylvia's if that helps.]

Looks like the two of us got competition, huh? Before long, she's gonna be the one travelin' the galaxy helpin' folks.

We'll need to look out for her then. The last thing we need right now is usurpers to our positions of saviors of the galaxy.

[Grop is so rare for both of them to take an instant shine to someone, this was weirdly nice.]

Never hurts to have helpers in other galaxies.

[He slides the last pancake off the frying pan and fixes up the stack to be presentable. As a finishing touch, he adds a few strawberry slices on top.]
