[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

Something has to give.]

[Mulan, of all people, would definitely know that.]

Anything is alright, really. I usually just eat rice for breakfast.

[He drops the grapes.]

Rice. I forgot about that. [No, he didn't think of it until Mulan mentioned it.] I'm so sorry, Ping, I'll get to it right now!

[He jumps off the chair and digs into the pantry under the counter and lugs the large bag of rice out. It slides to the edge and onto the floor, where Wander is unable to pick it up with his noodly arms.

He strains to lift it over his head.]

Mulan just. Goes over there to help him, attempting to pick up the bag of rice for him.]

It's alright. Over the last week I figured out that most people here don't eat rice as often as I do.

[Wander lets go. Ping is a very strong large human and can handle the heavy stuff better.]

Wish I could say I eat rice, but you don't really find it growin' in the forest or served in delis.

[He is not going to be useless and will grab the pot and fill it with water.]

That's true, it grows much better in paddies.

[Once the pot of water is back over there, she will scoop out the rice to put into it.]

[He sets it to boil.]

We should add somethin' special to this rice, not just eggs. Vegetables? Tomatoes?

What about leeks?

Leeks work!

[It will be a chore to clean them, but if Ping wants leeks, by golly Wander will give him leeks. He returns to the fridge to pull out two.]

Take these. I'll move everythin' I made to the table.

[Pshhhh, Mulan wouldn't make Wander clean them on his own. If she's making special requests, then she will do the work too. While he moves stuff to the table, she is already preparing the leeks for cleaning.]

Thanks, Wander. It's nice, to cook with other people.

[Wander rushes back onto his stool and prepares the cutting board.]

Nothin' better than a helpin' hand than another helpin' hand. Though usually I'm just cookin' for you. Do you do much cookin'?
