WEEK 2

[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

Something has to give.]

Of course not! You guys seem way too nice to even consider that.

[But even as she says this there is a noticeable tone of doubt in her voice, made even more obvious by the fact that she doesn't meet Elsa's eyes as she says this.]

... I know you're worried. I think it's okay to admit that... we all are, a little bit. Or I'd like to think so, at least.

[Because that worry is eating her up, too. Elsa's just better at hiding it, after dealing with emotional repression for over a decade now.]

I'm more worried about what might happen if nobody takes that ridiculous bait. Our host said he might "push" us if no one does, didn't he?

[She doesn't say anything about being worried, but she lets out a long sigh before standing up.]

I'm sure they're just bluffing. What could they possibly do to us to make us more likely to kill someone.

[She does seem less doubtful about that. The worst thing they could do to her is threaten to kill Wander, which is a little counterproductive since he's still here.]

... When he first revealed himself, I asked our host what abilities he might have as a ghost. He told me one such ability was possession.

[If he or his "employer" want someone dead so badly that they're trying to get one of their captives to kill another... would they stoop that low...?]

If he or his employer truly want one of us to die, then perhaps...

[Her eyes widen a little bit at the idea of being possessed, but she shakes her head.]

I don't know, I feel like the reason we're here isn't because they exactly want us to die. If they just wanted to do that, they could have killed us all a long time ago.

[Well, maybe not Wander, but they would have at least attacked him a long time ago.]

Which means... I think we might be here for torture.

[Not a possibility she wanted to consider, but she isn't really unused to the idea of villains wanting to torture her.]

[Brr. Thankfully it isn't felt outward, but a chill still goes down Elsa's spine at that.]

But... wouldn't they have started that already, if that's what they wanted? If whoever is behind our kidnapping just wanted to see us suffer, then why give us calm days like this?

To give us hope, I imagine. Just enough so that we aren't completely broken after one week.

[She shakes her head.]

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I've seen enough villains that I can't not consider it.

You've encountered people like this before?

[Geez, and here she thought something like this was extremely rare...]

How were they stopped? Do you think we'll be able to get out of here?

Well, nothing exactly like this, but I've been captured enough times that I'm starting to wonder if I spend my nights in a prison cell more often than not.

[... To be fair she's been getting a habit of breaking into Lord Hater's ship to rest for the night.]

Normally Wander is able to, you know, do his thing and get us out of here, but...

[She looks behind her, as if worried that Wander is listening in.]

"Do his thing"? Does Wander have some sort of special abilities...?

[Hard to imagine a sweet thing like him fighting villains....]

If by "special abilities" you mean "sees the good in everybody, even if they're trying to kill him and would do whatever it takes to help out people", then yes.

[He's also very slippery so that's pretty helpful in most cases.]

So he can overcome any obstacle with his natural kindness?

[A pause, and then she laughs.]

I'm sure he's getting along quite well with my sister, then.

Pretty much!

[She almost says "all except one", but she really doesn't want to think about her.]

I'm guessing your sister is similarly optimistic, then?

She is. She has so much optimism she could outshine the sun itself.

[Can you tell she loves her little sister? Because she does. With all her heart.]

She... she's here, actually. [That smile fades, just a little.] Her name is Anna. Er... the red-haired one.

Oh right, Princess Anna. I haven't actually met her but if she's half as great as Wander, maybe I should.

[Can you tell she loves Wander?]

It's really nice having people you recognize in a place like this. I'm sure I would have gone crazy the first day if I was completely alone here.

[By "completely alone" she means "the only person she knows who's not from Earth".]
