WEEK 2

[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

Something has to give.]

the banana floats up and nudges him on the shoulder.]

He tries not to flinch when it touches him, and forces a grin.]

He-hey there... Sorry to bother you, I was just wondering, uh, if there was any...sugar?

the banana stares at him for a moment, wondering how to communicate this. then, after a pause, it rotates back and forth in a "no" motion.]

...I was afraid of that.

[He glances at his ingredients, then.]

Do you think, you know, there could be? I wanted to try to...bring everyone's spirits up with some food...

[...can a banana shrug? it kind of moves up and down in a shrugging motion.

it goes over to look at the food, though, looking over it.]

[Following the curiosity, he starts explaining.]

You make a paste and dip the fruit in it, and then fry it. Then you dust it with sugar to make it sweet.

...Actually, I usually put some sugar on mine before I fry them, too. Especially if the fruit's kind of tart.

[oh, that's actually kinda cool.

the banana kind of sniffs around for a moment. okay. that would probably be better with some sugar, yeah.]

[Lefou can't help but look hopeful.]

S-so... Do you think you can help?

it kind of. points itself at the door to the kitchen. you should get out of here real quick.]

O-oh, you want me to, uh... wait outside?

[absolutely.

it takes a minute, but then lefou might feel something nudge his back. the banana's gone, but there's a very prominent jar of sugar on the kitchen counter.]

[He actually lets out a little gasp of delight when he sees the sugar on the counter.
