WEEK 2

[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

Something has to give.]

Maui, that has got to be the stupidest idea I've heard in awhile.

[... Sylvia deflates a little.]

But I really don't have any other ideas on how to get outta here.

Well smart ideas clearly aren't working. Now we have to get creative.

[Maui knelt down, holding his arms open wide.]

C'mon, Grumpy. Let's do it.

[She accepts the offer, looking very determined for someone who just said this was a terrible idea.]

Whatever you say, Mudboy!

[Without a word, Maui wrapped his sausage fingers his hands around Sylvia's form. He heaved her up into the air, not unlike a soccer player might prepare for a throw-in. Planting his feet, he bent his arms back and released a breath.]

Here goes nothing.

[Actually, here goes Sylvia, flying up the stairs.]

[Sylvia lets out a battle cry as she is flung over the stairs. She makes some distances until she... loses altitude and is rammed face first into the stairs. She flops over until she is once again at the bottom of the stairs, looking much worse for wear than the last time she fell.]

Ow...

[Grop she's in so much pain. Is this what dying feels like? This feels like dying.]

[Well... that definitely did not go to plan. And while Maui wasn't usually the caring for others type (not outwardly, at least), if Sylvia wound up dead, well... He knew whose shoulders hat would be on.

And he definitely didn't want to see what happened to killers in this game they were playing.]

You alive up there, Grumpy? Should I, uh, get someone for you?

[There is a no response from upstairs. Sylvia is dead- wait no after a tiny bit, Maui should hear some groaning as Sylvia finally gets up.]

No I'll be fine. That just hurt a lot worse than I thought it would.

[Well, if she's alive then it's time to focus on more important things. Things that don't involve helping her up or offering to get her something.]

I think you're too big. We need someone smaller to throw. One of the kids, maybe? Light, but not too light!

[Thanks Maui, you're a real pal.

She eases her way back down the stairs. She is so tempted to call Maui out on that "too big" comment but decides against it for now.]

This isn't going to work. Whatever is keeping us from going upstairs isn't going to break just by tossing people up here.
