[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

Something has to give.]

And I'm sayin' if they can do that then there's nothin' stoppin' them doin' whatever else they please. Especially if they're spirits, because that's what spirits do, they, they possess you and turn you wicked.

If they can do that whenever they want, why haven't they done that by now, then? Why bother with the motives if they can just possess us and force us to murder each other?

Do you really think they're goin' to keep us here forever if no-one... if no-one gives in?

... I dunno. I feel like they'd have to give up eventually. Even if they said they were going to keep us forever, I think they'd have to realize eventually that it's a lot more effort than it's worth if we didn't kill each other.

So... so we just have to hold out until... until they give up. However long that takes.

[He takes his notebook out of his coat and underlines something. You know. Just to reinforce it.]

I'm sure it'll take one month, maybe two at the most. After that we'll be able to leave and pretend none of this ever happened.

[His first instinct is to protest that that's far too long to have to survive in a place like this, but he beats it down. No. No. It won't help.]
