[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

Something has to give.]

It does, doesn't it? I didn't even know these fruits existed until earlier this week.

[ Luckily melons are pretty easy to slice, so soon there will be a second bowl of little green and orange squares for Naminé.]

I didn't know about a lot of the foods here, actually, but the stuff in the boxes doesn't taste so good.

[ Nice. Naminé takes the bowl and peers into it before looking at Mulan. Someone else who's unfamiliar with the food! Excellent. ]

I know how you feel. I've never eaten any of the food here. [ She smiles sheepishly. ] It makes me feel a bit silly.

You haven't eaten? At all? How are you not starving?

Um... I never really needed to eat.

No, um... not a spirit.

Then you need to eat! Here-

[Whoops she's pulling out stuff to actually cook food now. FOOD INCOMING]

O-oh, if it's too much trouble, um, I'm sure I can find something! I don't want to interrupt you...

No, it's alright! I'm not as good as my mother is, but I can cook quite a few things. It won't even take that long.

[chainbroke]

[ She's still not too sure! But... ]

Um, if you're really sure... thank you, Ping. What are you going to make?

Rice and eggs.

[A simple meal, to get them started. She doesn't want to make Namine too full before bed.]

Oh! Eggs are good.

[ She smiles, glad she recognizes at least that. ]

Is that what you ate a lot of, back home?

[sentadaughter]

Sometimes. Most meals are usually rice with vegetables or meat or eggs. Especially in the military, there isn't much time to cook anything fancy.

I see... But even if it's not fancy, I think it'll be delicious.

I can't do anything like cook, so I admire those who can.

Well if you haven't eaten before, then I definitely wouldn't expect you to know how to cook. But if you ever want to learn, I can teach you what I know.
