[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

Something has to give.]

[He grins as she moves, but doesn't say anything. This would be even better with a spoon... or a laser! He's not got either at the moment, though, so a fork will have to do.

He wiggles it slightly, making the light dance enticingly.]

[capulion]

[Enticing it is. It jiggles and flashes and looks very much like a very shiny beetle. Her tail twitches again and she slowly lifts herself up into a crouch.]

Hmm....

[She watches it go, tail swishing and shoulders moving just a little.]

[This is so cool to watch. He never thought he'd get a chance to watch a real live lion hunt. Sure, they're at the zoo, but that's not the same as being in the same room with one.

He makes the light dance a little distance away.]

[capulion]

[Too bad for him this one is a huge novice. If he knows much about cats he'll notice that she moves a bit more like a really big kitten still learning how to hunt than a fully grown predator.

Still, she makes her best effort with a little wiggle and then POUNCE!

She overshoots.

She crashes.]

Aw man.

[Ok, that? It's too cute. He has to stifle a giggle, which she'll probably hear, and the flicker of light vanishes as he covers his mouth.]

Busted. She puts her ears down and curls her tail in a bit.]

You saw that, didn't you?

Yeah.

[No need to hide it.]

You're only a little lion, though, so it's ok!

[You'd think he'd be more surprised about the whole talking thing, but he's head her before, like as not.]

[capulion]

I mean, I'm not that little.

[She's grateful for the excuse, though, so she isn't half so offended about being called little.

She's still pretty embarrassed, though.]

I thought I was getting better...

Well, don't lions like... start with their eyes and ears closed? you've gotta be better than that!

[He's trying not to be patronizing, honest.]

You've just gotta practice. Maybe if I get my frisbees back sometime, you'll be able to practice pouncing on those! But I can get 'em going pretty fast.

I don't see what that has to do-

[You know what, never mind. He's right.]

Yeah, probably. I haven't had much practice. I mean, Kovu was helping me learn, but even with a tutor...

[She hadn't gotten as far as she wanted to.]

I understand.

I'm trying to be a better fighter but it's hard without practice against a lot of people, and I've only really got one close friend.

[capulion]

[She smiles, trying to be encouraging.]

There's so much that people seem to just know and you have to learn! They make it look so easy....
