[. . . Well last week sure was a bloodbath. A bloody, accidental bloodbath. Even with two groups trying to save you, it might start to feel doubtful that you'll ever get out of here alive. Not to mention that Randy almost killed you all on an angry whim and you're still stuck in this madhouse with him of all people.

But hey, there's a silver lining to every cloud! You get a new floor that's not a nightmarish deathscape! Aren't you glad?

[He steps up to one of the other punching bags, and takes a pretty typical boxing form.

His first two hits are solid and quick, and definitely powerful for a man his age.]

Never been in a gym with a girl before, thought I'd ask before butting in.

I've never been in a real gym before, to be honest. Just the training area Saw built when I was younger.

Wasn't planning on it. But I have to say, I didn't think I would miss having a punching bag this much.

Me either. [Whap whap] Me and my brother got one on our ship. Helps a couple of old men stay limber, which let me tell you ain't an easy feat when you're sleeping in bunk beds out on the open ocean.

[The force of his punches slows down a little bit, to match the fond smile on his face.]

Good for you. I think... being a pilot might have been fun, had things turned out differently for me. [ whap whap whap ] Though I suppose I do have time to find something new to do with my life now.

[stanbyme]

[He stops to give her a small smile, and then goes back to wailing on the punching bag.]

It's all about taking chances when you get 'em.

I suppose it is.

[ She sighs, examining the punching bag for a second before going back to Jyn Smash on it. ]

Especially the ones you had no idea you would get.

...Yeah, I know that feeling.

[astronomics]

[ She sighs. ]

Has Leia told you anything about what happened to me by her time?

No, she ain't.

[He didn't. Know you two were from the same world.]

I take it it ain't good, though.

About two seconds after when I was pulled here... I die. It's what I was expecting before I came. So now it's been over a month and... I'm still coming to grips with the fact that I might have a life in front of me now.

Sounds like the right time to find someplace quiet, open up a bookshop, maybe write a memoir and sell it as fiction.

[It's an honest, if slightly flippant, suggestion.]

[ Jyn smirks. ]

Not a terrible idea. That's... huh, that might actually be the direct opposite of forgery.

A story so true there's no way it could be real.
