[. . . Well last week sure was a bloodbath. A bloody, accidental bloodbath. Even with two groups trying to save you, it might start to feel doubtful that you'll ever get out of here alive. Not to mention that Randy almost killed you all on an angry whim and you're still stuck in this madhouse with him of all people.

But hey, there's a silver lining to every cloud! You get a new floor that's not a nightmarish deathscape! Aren't you glad?

[ Oh god are they friends. Is this what his life has been reduced to, being friends with Soos?

Not that he...actually had any friends at all before.

He looks up from the cheese tower slowly, wincing at the sound of another person's voice. ]

Better? Better than what? Better than a man trampled underneath a carriage pulled by four horses? Better than that girl being ripped apart, splattering blood ten feet away?

[ He winces again, pressing a hand to his forehead. ]

[Look, worse comes to worse, Gaston can always say he got a replacement for Lefou.

Soos can't help but wince himself when hearing him talk about Kim, before visibly wilting a little bit.]

Yeah, that...that's fair, really. Don't think anyone will be the same after that, to be honest.

But, on the bright side, we're both still alive. And Negaduck is dead, which is a huge bonus!

[He will never not be happy about that, by the way.]

[ Actually, Gaston had been comparing his own headache to the pain Kim must have felt on being pulled apart, and not commenting on the trauma of seeing it happen. But we'll let that pass. He nods thoughtfully, poking at his cheese tower. ]

Yes...yes, it's true, I survived, and that's what's important...

Yeah. Plus, if they were being honest, that guy in the mirror can bring them back. We just gotta wait a little while.

[Of course, that was several weeks ago, and seven cool people (and Negaduck) have died since then, so it's kinda...not as effective, at this point.]

[ He spits out the word in disgust, glaring at the room in general. ]

While we sit here, being picked off one by one like...like civilians.

Well, there's...not much else we can do. The times any of us tried fighting against Randy just ended with Marco and Kim nearly dying, and Pinocchio and Arrow actually dying.

[If he has any ideas on what they could do, he's all ears.]

[ Well he's sure as hell not about to suggest making a heroic sacrifice or anything. ]

A shame the duck was killed. We may have been able to use him.

Use him how? It's not like we could get him to do anything for us.

Unless you tried, like, using him as a weapon by swinging him around or something and that got counted as him hurting Randy. Then I can see your reasoning.

At least he's still dead, though. Better than him still being alive and stuck here with us.

Well, everyone that's still here seems pretty cool and level headed. As long as Randy doesn't try doing that hallucination thing again, I think we'll all be fine.

...so? He hasn't exactly done anything bad. In fact, he got us to be able to see some of our loved ones. He's been pretty helpful.

Also, he's kind of the kind an enemy that we can't really fight back against, so I'm pretty sure all we can do is try to keep everyone else alive right now.
