Week 6

[. . . Well last week sure was a bloodbath. A bloody, accidental bloodbath. Even with two groups trying to save you, it might start to feel doubtful that you'll ever get out of here alive. Not to mention that Randy almost killed you all on an angry whim and you're still stuck in this madhouse with him of all people.

But hey, there's a silver lining to every cloud! You get a new floor that's not a nightmarish deathscape! Aren't you glad?

[Early in the morning, Marco can be found at the gym. He's been so busy writing notes and trying to think of a way to escape without getting anyone else killed that he.. honestly forgot to explore the new floor until the motive announcement happened. And now that he's peeved as fuck over said motive, and has found a gym with things he's allowed to punch, hes wailing at one of the punching bags. Just punching it over and over, and kicking it almost off it's chain.. he's perhaps a little too aggressive with this actually. But he has a lot of stress to take care of, so he'll be here for a while.

Later, Marco stops by the slot machine and gets a random assortment of stuff that he doesn't seem super interested in.. uuuuntil a chicken pops out of the machine and looks up at him curiously.]

Well hey there little gu--

[And. Then it screams. Lovely.

Finally, it's later in the evening and Marco has snuck out of his room to go to the pool. Not super late, kind of around seven or so but late enough to where he's sure no one's gonna wanna go swimming.

He has a staff in his hands, and a book he sneakily took from Lekmet propped up on a chair, open to one of the pages inside (also he has Hei-Hei just running around the poolside he's fine). He stares at it for a good couple of seconds before taking a deep breath, and suddenly he starts twirling around, posing with the staff in a graceful and sequenced manner.

As he does this, crescent moons suddenly appear on his cheeks, glowing a bright gold and the staff in his hands begins to glow too, and on the final pose he aims at the pool and shouts:]

Narwhal Blast!

[There's a big light that comes from the staff, and the excitement in Marco's eyes is able to be seen from space. But... rather than a huge, powerful blast of narwhals shooting across the room like he had hoped, all that actually shoots out is a tiny little baby one that doesn't even go two feet in front of him. It flops around on the floor uselessly and Marco stares at it with disappointment for a few seconds before kicking it into the water so it can at least swim around for a bit.]

[so there's some shit here she is quite interested in... but she is immediately distracted by. that.]

... Why is it screaming.

I don't know?

[Marco looks over at Freddie with the most confused expression, and he reaches out hesitantly to pick up Hei-hei which.. he stops?? When he's in his arms???

I have no idea where or who this bird belongs to. He just.. popped outta there when I put in a coin.

It's probably somebody's pet if it came out of there, then... Who'd have a chicken as a pet?

....maybe Gaston?

[He kind of seems like the kind who'd have a chicken for a pet. Or maybe he'd just eat it alive. Who the hell knows with that guy.]

I dunno if I'd want to give it back to him if that was the case, though.

... Look, if you're gonna kill this chicken, at least give it to me so it'll die usefully. Gaston will just fry it or something.

I'm not going to kill him!

[Marco hugs Hei Hei closer to his chest, away from Freddie with an Offended look on his face.]

We have chicken meat in the kitchen!

So, you're gonna keep it? [HOW DISAPPOINTING] Well... At least it could scream and get help if you're being murdered?

I'm not going to get murdered, either!

I'm just gonna keep him until someone else speaks up, and then he's they're problem.

What if nobody does? Its owner could be one of our dearly departed, after all.

Then I guess I'm adopting a chicken into the Diaz family. I could name him something like.. Horchata or.. I dunno.

Pool

[Soos was heading to the pool to soak his feet, maybe keep his mind off of what's going on, and...well, he wasn't sure what he was expecting when he walked in, but it definitely wasn't that.]

Did you just...create a narwhal?

[He knows about magic and stuff but nothing along the lines of CREATING LIFE]

[When Soos speaks up, Marco flinches a little bit and whips around, immediately holding the staff behind him but-- oh no it's just Soos. Okay. No angry goat dads or anything here.]

Y-yeah I uh...

[He looks back over at his spellbook, and holds the staff out again to show Soos.]

I got this from the slot machine and I thought "hey, this kinda looks weird and magical maybe I'll try a spell or two?" sooo... yeah. I'm trying some of Star's spells but I'm having trouble with getting them down right.

[He's silent for a moment as he looks over the staff.]

Yeah, it does look like some magic-y type stuff. But it also kinda looks like the magic-y thing a bad guy would use. I mean...

[Gestures towards the snake part of the cane]

I don't think there are many people that have cobra themed canes that are super nice.

....it doesn't shoot corrupted magic as far as I can tell.

[Marco holds the staff up to his face, turning it to look it over.]

And in any case, anything that can use magic is useful here. I might be able to use it to talk to Star if I can get it to work right! And a way to talk to the dead would be like, super useful again now that our numbers are dwindling.

...I didn't even know magic could be corrupted.

[Isn't it just good magic and bad magic?]

That...you have a point there. It'd be nice to get to talk to some of them again.

[He feels like he needs to apologize to Remy for not making sure he got out of here alive, even if he couldn't have really done anything about it.]

Yeah it would.. I really want to talk to Kim again. Not just 'cause I miss her but because she's really smart and we could still use her over on our side.

[He moves over to the notebook, flipping through the pages a little bit.]

Okay, stand back. I'm gonna try the All Seeing Eye spell, which is like the mirror Beast had but y'know. In spell form.

[Soos nods before he does as he's told, backing up towards the door and leaning against it, trying to make himself seem as far away as possible.

It...may not actually be the best place to be, but it's certainly not the worst.

He gives a thumbs up to signal that he's ready to see what this spell has to offer.]
