[. . . Well last week sure was a bloodbath. A bloody, accidental bloodbath. Even with two groups trying to save you, it might start to feel doubtful that you'll ever get out of here alive. Not to mention that Randy almost killed you all on an angry whim and you're still stuck in this madhouse with him of all people.

But hey, there's a silver lining to every cloud! You get a new floor that's not a nightmarish deathscape! Aren't you glad?

Eyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bud! [The arts and crafts room probably doesn't have spinny chairs, but she still tries to spin it towards him. The legs squeal against the ground.] Just making some informational packets to pass around. College stuff.

. . . Is that supposed to be a, like, "go away because this is Adult Stuff"? [????] Because I'm a college student, I have a fancy ID and everything.

[He pats down his pockets before pulling a school ID for San Fransokyo Institute of Technology out. See??? College student. He's in computer engineering.]

Oh, dude, not at all. Talking down to the youngins is lame. I'm literally just following the time honored college tradition of making pamphlets. Also, side note, nice! [Immediately moving to high five Hiro.] Engineering is the coolest! I knew lots of rad engineers back at ESU. How's the Institute treating ya?

I dunno - I was only a couple weeks into my first semester when, uh. [He gestures around at their surroundings.] This happened. It's not as terrible as I thought going to nerd school would be, but also quantum theory makes me want to quit and live in the woods for the rest of my life, so.

But yeah, its tough stuff. I have enough trouble with computer science.

Yeah, I already had a bunch of experience with it and sometimes I barely understand what my classes are saying. [Which is what happens? When you just learn stuff by doing it and fixing the bugs afterward.] It's weird, like. Learning the process and stuff behind how everything works.

Oooh, you're one of those smart kids that found a different way to solve the problems and now the teachers are making you learn the "right" ways, huh?

Baaaaasically. I learned everything I know by building, uh. [Illegal things. Very illegal things.] Battle robots and stuff, so it's weird to go back to the basics and learn how to do things the right way so your stuff doesn't just break and go haywire.
