Week 6

[. . . Well last week sure was a bloodbath. A bloody, accidental bloodbath. Even with two groups trying to save you, it might start to feel doubtful that you'll ever get out of here alive. Not to mention that Randy almost killed you all on an angry whim and you're still stuck in this madhouse with him of all people.

But hey, there's a silver lining to every cloud! You get a new floor that's not a nightmarish deathscape! Aren't you glad?

18 people remain]

[SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY]

[Don't forget to fill in this week's AC!]

I can only imagine.

[Leia glances down at the piglet, than back up at Soos with a raised eyebrow.]

...You have?
sorrydoods: (That's really cool dude)

[personal profile] sorrydoods 2018-02-15 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yup. At least I think so. Mabel has this pet pig named Waddles, and he's really cute. Like, when he oinks, it sounds like he is saying Mabel's name.

[You can't really beat that.]

Does she? [Somehow this...doesn't surprise her, knowing Mabel.] Is it normal for Earth children to keep livestock as pets?
sorrydoods: (wait)

[personal profile] sorrydoods 2018-02-15 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
...sorta. Some kids have pigs or goats or other stuff as pets, but not a lot of them. Mabel mostly has Waddles since she won him from a carnie at the carnival we had at the Mystery Shack. She had to guess his weight, and she guessed right. She's had him ever since.

Interesting. She was given a live animal as a reward for her accuracy.

[She guesses it makes more sense than pulling a pig out of a slot machine.]

Earth gets stranger the more I hear about it.
sorrydoods: (Say what dude)

[personal profile] sorrydoods 2018-02-15 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, if it wasn't a carnival, she probably would've had to pay for him instead. Plus, I'm pretty sure the guy was thinking whoever got him would eat him instead of have him as a pet.

[Is that more normal? He's pretty sure that makes it sound more normal.]

Well, truth be told, that would be my first inclination, too.

[Leia glances down at the pig, and then bends to set him on the ground. Pua snorts a couple of times, does a circle around Leia's feet, and then settles in beside her.]

...I guess that settles that.
sorrydoods: (That's really cool dude)

[personal profile] sorrydoods 2018-02-16 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, looks like he already likes you!

[He gives the pig a couple of head scratches before looking back at Leia.]

What are you gonna call him?
hasit: (08)

[personal profile] hasit 2018-02-16 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It seems so.

[Leia pauses only for a moment to lift the pig up, checking its sex, before...]

Ackbar.
sorrydoods: (wait)

[personal profile] sorrydoods 2018-02-16 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, that's...unusual]

Why Ackbar? Never heard of a name like that before.
hasit: (02)

[personal profile] hasit 2018-02-16 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[She goes ahead and scoops Ackbar back up into her arms, patting him on his fuzzy little head.]

Ackbar was the name of a good friend of mine. He passed away not too long ago.
sorrydoods: (Hello there)

[personal profile] sorrydoods 2018-02-16 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[...why can he not just talk to some people and not be awkward]

Oh, uh...sorry. I...I didn't mean to bring up bad memories or anything.
hasit: (Default)

[personal profile] hasit 2018-02-16 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you're fine, dear.

[Ackbar snuffles against her cheek, looking for more scratches, which she happily obliges.]

If it bothered me that much, I wouldn't have used the name.
sorrydoods: (That's really cool dude)

[personal profile] sorrydoods 2018-02-16 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I...I guess that's true.

[Wouldn't actually make sense if it wasn't.

Soos also gives him a couple more head scratches because, come on, that's adorable.]

It's nice whenever something good comes from that machine, unlike the bad stuff.

[Sorta like what happened yesterday. Yesterday was terrible.]

[personal profile] hasit 2018-02-18 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a rare occasion, but yes, it's a breath of fresh air.
sorrydoods: (That's really cool dude)

[personal profile] sorrydoods 2018-02-18 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, like when we just get food like the baguettes or the coconuts.

[It's always nice to have food.]
hasit: (07)

[personal profile] hasit 2018-02-18 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
...I don't trust much of the food that comes out of that machine, anymore.

[For obvious reasons.]
sorrydoods: (wait)

[personal profile] sorrydoods 2018-02-18 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Opens mouth to argue

Slowly closes it, realizing there isn't much to argue.]

Yeah, that...that's fair.
